Re: [Audyssey] Facebook games
It’s been a long time, but I used to play one called My Zoo. It had you build a zoo, and when you acquired a new baby animal, all these terminally-cute baby animal pictures would be posted to your wall. You had to keep the zoo financially solvent, make sure there were enough amenities for the visitors, etc. Once you attained a certain net worth (I’ve forgotten what it was, but in was in the billions of dollars) you could get hold of some pandas. anyway, once I did that, the game kept going, raking in the money, but I got bored with it. LOL There are lots of zoo games out there on fB, but that one is definitely accessible, if it’s still available. Re: [Audyssey] star traders rpg now accessible on Ios
Hi shanon. one thing about star traders you don't need given professions to try different missions, you just need to put xp into growing skills, so spy missions just take the stealth skill. you get bonuses if your ship has electronics in the hold, but that also causes enemies to become harder to fight off. I also haven't finished an assassination contract yet since usually my target runs away which is irritating! Beware the grue! Looting ships works very much the same way that exploring, harvesting, or indeed trading do. When you hit the loot cargo button you will be presented with a list of cargo types. flicking through them you'll find something like Water-fuel 10 0, Lux food 5 0, crystals 0 6 etc. Each of the names of the goods such as water-fuel or crystals is a button to click on, and the two numbers after refer to what is in your ship's hold and what is available to take. Just so long as you remember the first number after each button as you flick through is the quantity in your hold and the second is the amount you can take you should be fine. To actually do the looting, it's very similar to buying stuff. You hit the button and then have a screen with the numbers in hold and available, and a slider, this is where what I was saying earlier about the sliders comes into play. set the slider to %100, you grab everything, set it to %0, you drop everything. So if you have 6 lux food in your ship and there is 4 available to take the slider will start at %60 since you currently have %60 of the available amount. bang it up to %100 to grab the other four. the only other thing to note is that sometimes, when you have four or less of a given good available, simply flicking up and down the slider won't do it. In these situations you need to double tap on the slider and then slide your finger across the screen. Go all the way right to set to %100, or all the way left to set to %0. Actually I've taken to using the double tap and slide method myself regularly, since it is a far quicker way to instantly set a slider to one end or the other and most of the time I want to take everything or sell everything. Btw, the fastest way of looting is to simply have more space in your ship's cargo hold than the max available lootable cargo, then you can just hit the take max button to grab the lot, though this only shows up when looting ships and not when exploring or harvesting unfortunately. The game itself is actually not terribly complicated. In its simplest form, build a world, fight monsters, and collect resources so you can build more and fight more. My personal bias in this case is actually pretty strong, but the one thing I will say is that Minecraft has a very active modding community. They add all sorts of features to the game, crazy stuff that nobody ever thought would get in there. It's kind of become a giant message board, in a way, for funny gaming references. Re: [Audyssey] X-Sight interactive gone?
Well I have been doing a lot of testing for ks and unreality and yeah it can be a bit of a bear. The first game, deatmatch had 4 rewrites and after issues with bgt that and most other projects ended. That was traded to ks because they work in our share and were happy to handle it. Then dm2 came but now fsl does not run with the latest purebasic builds we use. So right now shooting fps is just gone, its heavily into sports and stuff now. So yeah, I understand where you come from. On the subject of having not enough resources I don't think we ever had enough, a lot of stuff danny had and or others and I previded sfx where needed. We have the owner of ks who can do music so that helps but to be honest, I don't know what happens on a daily basis. We are now on our first shareware snow boarding sport game, so who knows. At 06:45 AM 2/5/2014, you wrote: Hi Lindsay, Unfortunately I have indeed had to close the doors on X-Sight. I did send a message about this in December, but to recap, the whole project was doomed to failure from the start. My inexperience in audiogame development caused a complete downward chain reaction. I didn't invest half enough money into the project, our first game was marketed badly for US based customers which caused a slight scandal, we didn't have half the materials we needed which meant that a lot of our games were substandard and a lot of my team members left at this point when they realised it was coming to nothing. By 2013 it was all left to me, which meant that I felt under immense pressure to get the ball rolling, and my pride and determination was my undoing. Yet another scandal arose over a non-gaming project, the funds were exhausted, and my marriage was at breaking point. Since the closure, I have had time to sit back and play a lot of newer audiogames such as Entombed, Swamp, and the Bokurano Daibouken series to name a few, most of which are actually free. Based on these experiences, even if I were to begin development again at some point, my ideas for games would probably seem trivial, and I haven't yet the experience of programming bigger games in those styles to be able to promise anything substantial, let alone marketable. Myself, now, I personally feel like I'm part of an older generation of developers struggling to keep up with both current technology and gameplay styles and expectations, so I'm handing the ball to the more confident, younger generation who seem to have a lot going for them. It saddens me, but all things must come to an end, and unfortunately, I feel like my time developing games is done, unless I work on a collaborative effort. well mushclient is one. I have however got the mush-z client for alterian. I have then updated it with the latest mush client by installing it over top or extracting and coppying the installer files with 7zip. The good part about mush z is that all of the libs for access are included with the engine. mush-z can be gotten at either www.mush-z.com or www.blindsoftware.com At least blindsoftware is now mush-z which is a powerfull mud engine and although not bsc games its worth the title of blindsoftware. I'd really like to do some MUDing but frankly don't want to have to pay thirty bucks for VIPMud. Yeah yeah. I'm cheap and broke. Re: [Audyssey] star traders rpg now accessible on Ios
How did you manage to get that far? The most credit I got was 275,000. I chose the smuggler occupation. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find guides for it. I've seen them for Bounty Hunter, Captain, Merchant, and explorer. Has anyone tried being a smuggler? Does anybody know what the current limits of the map are? I could get as far as . But if there's anything further out, I am unable to find it. Certainly not with machines all rumours. You'll have to excuse me, I am using dictation. Secondly, to be honest planet's actual coordinates don't really matter in the game, since once you've selected a planet from the nav screen it'll tell you the distance and that's really all you need to know, THOUGH i AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THE POINT THAT THEY FIX THE NAV SCREEN TO SHOW FACTIONS FOR EACH PLANET. With the sliders, well they're a little different from the ones in Kodp where you have to slide slowly. Double tap and slide fully to the right for %100, ie, almost with your finger to the edge of the display, or fully to the left for %0. The these days I actually use that method with most things even when I could use the flick gesture flicking seems disabled when you have less than 4 total items, though as I said double tap and slide I find quicker. Regarding their other games, I do believe they plan ios ports and they have said they'll considder access perhaps for their cyber knights or age of piracy game, though unfortunately their only other Ios title, heroes of steel is apparently heavily graphical and real time. One advantage though is if they're porting to Ios directly they can fix access at the same time, which also makes fixing star traders access a good investment and is another reason it'd be good if people could 5 star rate the game too to give them some encouragement and let them know Vi users would like games like this accessible, since while there are! Vi users of android, there are far more on Iphone (lets not get into the debate as to why or wherefore just acept that is the current state of play), so there is more potential exposure for a developer in access for Iphone games, especially Rpgs. Btw, another interesting fact is apparently a lot of sighted users didn't like the graphical touch map either and prefer the navigator, which is a very nice case of access adjustements doing general good for everyone. Second, the music appears to be stuck for me. The android version has several different music, but the iOS version seems stuck on the combat music after you begin the game. Have you guys seen all the games on Android? There are so many by these guys. Unfortunately, I think only Star Traders really works, but there are a plenty. I wish they'd port those to iOS for us. Also, one thing to consider. I have a friend who recently reported that Voiceover doesn't always let you increment and decrement the sliders with a swipe gesture. This is true. Just double tap and hold and slide slowly. It's a VO thing, not a game thing. wow this is good. At 10:04 PM 2/7/2014, you wrote: Well, all those who have seen my posts about this game know just how awesome I think it is, especially compared to everything we currently have to play in the audiogames market. This Saturday, February 8th... the fully voiced version of this game will be released. Here I've given a link to a recording I just finished making of the game in action... from the first sub-boss to the end of the first main boss fight. I don't want to ramble on, partly because I'm not altogether awake right now... but partly because the rave about this game has been given before. lol. The acting is in Japanese, of course, and if anyone wants to know what the characters are saying... I'd be happy to translate as best I can given how much of the language I know, which isn't too much on the grand scale of things. Anyhow... enjoy, and get those questions coming! I intend to do a walkthrough after the voiced version comes out... and yes, this time I do intend to finish it. Because this is not just the original game with some voices thrown in... the game's gone through a pretty big overhaul from the demo I've played so far.
