Re: [Audyssey] BGT Important Update

2014-06-03 Thread Willem Venter
Adding to what Thomas said, there are still rules for changing and
using open source software.

if some feature (e.g cross platform support) is required badly enough
and the program is open source a developer could adapt it and request
that their work be merged into the main project.

On 6/2/14, Thomas Ward thomasward1...@gmail.com wrote:
 Hi Hayden,

Not necessarily. If we are talking open source the complaints or bug
reports would go to the open source project manager not Philip unless
he took up the job of project manager. Not just anyone can edit and
modify source code, and any good open source project has rules and
regulations that prevent just such an occurrence as you mentioned
below. I think a lot of confusion could be avoided if people
understood how open source works rather than just assuming anyone and
their brother can tamper with the stable release of open source
 software.

 Cheers!

[Audyssey] Smugglers 5 and smugglers 5 invasion new versions

2014-06-03 Thread dark
Zagreus sits inside your head
Zagreus lives among the dead
Zagreus sees you in your bed
And eats you when you're sleeping
Zagreus at the end of days
Zagreus lies all other ways
Zagreus comes when time's a maze
And all of history's weeping
Zagreus taking time apart.
Zagreus fears the hero heart.
Zagreus seeks the final part.
The reward that he is reaping.
Zagreus sings when all is lost
Zagreus takes all those he's crossed
Zagreus wins and all is cost
The hero's hearts he's keeping.
Zagreus seeks the hero's ship
Zagreus needs the web to rip
Zagreus sups time at a drip
And life aside, he's sweeping.
I wondered what was going on with s5 invasion, sinse last I heard there were
some pretty bad bugs.

Well i don't know what has happened with getting mails, but it turns out not
only have their been two versions of s5 invasion, but also a couple of new
versions of the standard Smugglers 5 (or smugglers 5 cessession as it's
becoming known).

I don't know if because they've have gone steam they got missed but either way
there is lots of good stuff going.

For a staart the new abilities system seen in invasion, whereby you get a draw
set of abilities at the start of combat has now made it to cessession. This is
lots of fun sinse it means no more having to kick back and use the same skills
in combat over and over again, though apparently some skills like Duelist are
left to invasion.

Lots of bug fixes, including some text fixes for blind compatibility mode (the
skill tree was much more comprehensible).

Also for invasion, the duelist bug I mentioned is definitely fixed.

Whether invasion is still as rock hard as it was or whether cessession has got
that way I don't know either way it's definitely worth a look.

If you've already got the games and want the new version upgrades, patches are
on http://www.nielsbauergames.com/updates.html

Enjoy!

[Audyssey] Help needed for lone wolf

2014-06-03 Thread Lori Duncan
Hi everyone, I’ve finally managed to get Lone Wolf back up and running on my
windows 7 system, but I’m noticing when I track things with my radar, it will
say something like “Cargoship north, 5000 yards”, but when I press the v key,
it then says nothing. I thought pressing the v key was the one to scan all
around me, like the x does in Tank Commander.

Also, is there a way I can learn about ranges of obsticles such as mines. I’m
not sure how close to a mine I have to be before it activates, and because they
don’t make a sound like the ones in Shades of Doom, I’m afraid to move. Maybe
someone could give me some tips. Thanks from Lori.

Re: [Audyssey] Help needed for lone wolf

2014-06-03 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Lori,

The v key is for your periscope. The range of what you can see depends
on both your depth and weather or not your periscope is up or down.
Try raising your scope and then scanning with the v key.
'
As far as mines such as mine fields they are a bit tricky to navigate
around. What you want to do is use your periscope, IE the v key, to
determine where the mine fields are and it will give you a range of
port and starboard directions such as from 10 port to 10 starboard.
That would mean the mine field was straight ahead of you. Ideally you
want to give the mine field some clearance either to port or starboard
so you can pass them by.

As far as mines detonating they won't explode unless you run into
them. Once you get good at steering around them you can often be only
a couple of yards away and they won't hurt you as long as you don't
make contact with the mine/mines.

HTH

Re: [Audyssey] Help needed for lone wolf

2014-06-03 Thread Milos Przic

Hello,
Maybe your periscope is down? Try pressing the f3 to raise your periscope
and then try with the v key.
About the mines, they require a level of navigational skills. It activates
when you collide with it, but still, don't go too near as when you want to
manoeuvre you need some space and you will probably activate it. I try to go
round it or find a way between mines, measuring carefully port and starboard
angles with my sonar, so when I make sure that nothing is in front of me I
pass by. A good way to find out if you are going to hit a mine is sending
out a torpedo to see if it will activate it, but if you have enemies in the
vicinity it is wiser not to do it.

Best!

[Audyssey] Blindfold racer for iOS Crashing on My iPod touch g5

2014-06-03 Thread Teresa Cochran
Hi, all. This game is quite accessible, and is really a kids' game, but it's
cute. Anyway, there are certain levels where it crashes on me. The troll eats
my game! The crashing that happens makes the home screen come up. I've tried
all the usual: remove app from app switcher, reinstall, reboot iPod. Nothing
works. anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks,
Teresa

I haven't had that problem, but you're not detailed enough in your report.
For example, which level does it crash during? Is it always at the same
point in the game? Does an error message come up? With this information,
have you contacted the game developer for suggestions?

[Audyssey] A truly epic space battle

2014-06-03 Thread dark
Well that has to qualify as probably the most epic space battle ive been
through in a long time.

I was in the Westwind system carrying out special forces missions in my small
shadow cat corvette, when what should hove into view but a Shark class
destroyer piloted by the dread pirate Black Morgan, no that's what he
called himself on the scanner.

I wasn't really sure whether engaging this massive ship was a good idea, sinse
while the bounty was amazingly huge, so was the risk, and taking out larger
ships is a very dicey proposition.

Nevertheless I thought I'd give it a try. unfortunately, as the battle started
it seemed that the sun of Westwind was disapproving, sinse repeated solar
flares threatened to stun both my ship and black Morgans' with an Emp pulse,
forcing me to take lots of extra time (ie two extra action points each turn),
to calculate correctly to avoid.

The battle therefore didn't go well, my particle cannons weren't scratching
Black Morgan's hull, and despite all my best maneuvers he'd got in some lucky
hits and my shields were at %50, and I had to really get lucky to Avoid
Morgan's big and nasty missiles, one hit from which would've destroyed my ship
in one go.

Then it came to me, to use my skill as a duelist to Suppress Morgan's ability
to dodge the solar flares, thus resulting in his ship being hit by Emp. This
let a couple of my own missiles strike hope, and let me rain in hits with my
particle cannons, but Morgan's shield was so huge, that the fight seemed
to go on forever, even when his shield was registering zero he was able to
launche a missile.

But with one last lucky shut morgan's shield finally collapsed!

I have to say that is one of the most awsome rpg battles I've had for some
considderable time, it even sounds like something out of startrek.

I was not initially too sure about the s5 invasion combat system, because
though the random hand of skills was a good idea, at the same time it seemed
nearly impossible to take out a bigger ship than yours, and not infrequently,
one the same class as yours as well.

Well the balance has been fixed by improving some of the skills and powering
down others, and also the duelist skill is just awsome!

Re: [Audyssey] Blindfold racer for iOS Crashing on My iPod touch g5

2014-06-03 Thread Teresa Cochran
It's not really about racing. It's more about an obstacle course with curvy
roads that have animals, walls (that's what the jetpack is for), etc. There are
no car noises; just music when you're driving. I really like the variety of
music he put in there. everything from surf to Javanese gamalon to classical.
It's really cute. I think it's a girl narrating who sounds like she's about
twelve or thirteen. I think there was a school for the blind in Miami that took
part in creating it.

Wow, that was a nice retelling, there, Dark. It reminds me of some of the
wonderfully swashbuckling space opera I've read. :)

I was in the Westwind system carrying out special forces missions in my
small shadow cat corvette, when what should hove into view but a Shark
class destroyer piloted by the dread pirate Black Morgan, no that's
what he called himself on the scanner.

I wasn't really sure whether engaging this massive ship was a good idea,
sinse while the bounty was amazingly huge, so was the risk, and taking out
larger ships is a very dicey proposition.

Nevertheless I thought I'd give it a try. unfortunately, as the battle
started it seemed that the sun of Westwind was disapproving, sinse
repeated solar flares threatened to stun both my ship and black Morgans'
with an Emp pulse, forcing me to take lots of extra time (ie two extra
action points each turn), to calculate correctly to avoid.

The battle therefore didn't go well, my particle cannons weren't
scratching Black Morgan's hull, and despite all my best maneuvers he'd got
in some lucky hits and my shields were at %50, and I had to really get
lucky to Avoid Morgan's big and nasty missiles, one hit from which
would've destroyed my ship in one go.

Then it came to me, to use my skill as a duelist to Suppress Morgan's
ability to dodge the solar flares, thus resulting in his ship being hit by
Emp. This let a couple of my own missiles strike hope, and let me rain in
hits with my particle cannons, but Morgan's shield was so huge, that
the fight seemed to go on forever, even when his shield was registering
zero he was able to launche a missile.

But with one last lucky shut morgan's shield finally collapsed!

I have to say that is one of the most awsome rpg battles I've had for some
considderable time, it even sounds like something out of startrek.

I was not initially too sure about the s5 invasion combat system, because
though the random hand of skills was a good idea, at the same time it
seemed nearly impossible to take out a bigger ship than yours, and not
infrequently, one the same class as yours as well.

Well the balance has been fixed by improving some of the skills and
powering down others, and also the duelist skill is just awsome!
