Hi Ron.

Sounds for Alteraeon come with the MushZ client. This a hugely well put
together soundpack for the game that turns Alter in a full audio rpg and
should really be thought of as virtually a custom client for alteraeon, even
though it's based on th mushclient program.

Even if (like myself), your used to using Vipmud with most muds, I'd highly
recommend using the MushZ client for alteraeon.

Hi Phil.

I do remember a similar conversation with Jim a while ago where he said as
much. Sinse due to my genophobia I have not played dungeon master, I would
appreciate some sort of none s/xual mod, though I do believe Jim said that
would be a little like wanting a version of Mac 1 without the racing which
is fare enough, and I will say that not being able to play games like
dungeon master and flexible survival is hardly the most serious consequence
of being genophobic.

[Audyssey] About Drakor

2015-05-29 Thread dark
Hi.

I remember a while ago earlier this year someone on this list mentioned the
browser game Drakor. I have now been playing and the game has also got one or
two miner access fixes (noteably for elements that were previously hidden), and
I can highly recommend it.

If you just want to dive in here is the link, (and yes it is my donater link).

 http://www.drakor.com/register/11254-1239

It's a usual fantasy rpg, do quests, wander around, slay monsters, join guildes
with other players etc, however there are some really interesting differences.

first is the battle system. Instead of just minimaxing your gear to hell and
then just hammering the attack button as in most browser games, you actually
have techniques you use. It's almost like a card game, each technique such as a
buff, a damaging attack, poison or healing is a card and takes up one slot, and
you can have a total of ten cards active.

In addition, you have equipment slots for things like shield, armor, weapon,
helmet and the like. You can also get into dungeons and have boss fights, or
have a random monster from the arena challenge you, and you earn items of
different quality and gold which of course you can use to improve your stratogy.

The major thing about the game however is that it has a huge! focus on
resources and crafting. Where battles take your active participation, there are
lots of activities like fishing, mining and gathering that your character will
do automatically, assuming that she/he has the required level, what you find is
dictated by the area you work in and your skill at the given activity.

One particularly cool thing about these automatic activities however, is that
what you do with what you find is quite different. You can just sell stuff, but
you can also buy patants to create items, so if you want to be a weapon smith
you need to buy a patant for making a sword, then get the materials and make
it.

There is of course lots of player trading and the like too.

Description wise, while the battles are not overly descriptive, the areas you
go through are, and all the quests and dungeons involve locating a given npc
and talking to them, then doing tasks, there isn't a generic quests board.

I also like the fact that this is a game where you can either play very
actively, or just leave your character to work on his/her own.

Access wise, the game is interesting because it doesn't work by usual text
methods like links and what not, but by on page hotspots, so for example to see
the area your character is in you just click on the xplore the world text
near the top of the screen, it's not a link but it'll work.

Same goes for the inventory, particularly note that when you view an item a
little box will pop up with it's stats and buttons for things like equipping it
or selling it, (in supernova this is at the top but it might be elsewhere with
other screen readers).

I admit the game layout does take a bit of learning, but sinse everything is
there are labeled and it's mostly a case of just clicking text and finding what
is what it should work. Also, I did originally experience a degree of slow down
with the game, but once I ran a malware scan and got Ie working in optimum this
no longer became an issue.

So, hope people will give this one a try particualrly because the dev has been
very nice about the one or two access points (like showing the durability of
items), that have occurred thus far.

All the best,

Dark.
There is always more to know, more to see, more to learn. The world is vast and
wondrous strange and there are more things benieth the stars than even the

Re: [Audyssey] info AudioGames Game Engine

2015-05-29 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Josh,

No such luck. As has been explained Dungeon Master is an adult erotic
fantasy game. In this case it refers to bondage and discipline rather
than Dungeons and dragons. Might want to be careful what you suggest
before you suggest it since that can lead to some rather embarrassing
mistakes.

Cheers!

Hi Phil,

That would have to be some pretty significant mod to turn Dungeon
Master into a Dungeons and Dragons type game. I do not see any remote
comparison between the two.

Cheers!

Of course, he would have to replace the feathers and whipped cream with
swords and magic wands.

 Hello everyone,

This is a friendly moderator reminder to remind list members if you
decide to change the topic of a message please change the subject line
of the message as well. It is confusing even somewhat irritating to
see a subject line of one thing but when reading the message the
author is talking about something totally different. If people can't
remember to change the subject line when the topic changes I'm afraid
I'm going to have to begin handing out moderated statuses to those
people who consistently change the topic without changing the subject
 line as well.

 Thanks.

Hi Bryan,

Oh, really? I always found Dungeon Master rather easy to play. I
completed it a couple of times. I guess I personally never found it to
be that challenging. Especially, once I figured out the proper order
to get stuff and how to use it in the game.

Cheers!

[Audyssey] new talking dosbox files

2015-05-29 Thread Josh K

hey i just uploaded one file to tony's site.
tdb-with-keynote-keysoft.zip ...
directions:
give tony time it will be put up there. site is
http://batsupport.com/unsupported/dosbox/
this talking dosbox works with NVDA, also has all the games,
wordperfect5.1 unsupported, keynote gold multimedia and keysoft
installed in windows3.1. games most are in the \games directory or folder.

when you type
cd\windows
werun.bat

window-eyes will start up. note this version of talking dosbox is the
one that works with NVDA. before wineyes starts up you will hear the
keynote gold multimedia demo talk and announce itself. to start keysoft
go into windows. the window eyes control panel will be in focus. hit
escape once. hit the alt key, hit up arrow until you hear switch to, hit
enter. a list box comes up. up arrow to program manager, hit enter. once
you have switched to program manager, note the shortcut is control
escape but when i hit that windows7 the host OS grabs that keystroke and
throws me out of dosbox. anyway you switch to program manager, hit
control tab until you are on the main child group. right arrow to ms dos
hit enter.

type cd\ksdemo
now type

ksdemo

hit enter and keysoft starts up. i think to turn up its volume it is f11
or f12. note also if we could get another screen reader in windows 3.1
then we could have like maybe outspoken then we could have keynote gold
as the default synthesizer inside windows3.1. but it is only a 15 minute
demo. so enjoy keynote and keysoft in talking dosbox!
