Re: [Audyssey] sound rts other suggestion
I listened to all the voices they offer and without exception they have such odd and/or funny intonation I couldn't live with them. Of course the voices we use in such as JAWS are more developed, but I was disappointed to see that these other voices have the problems unaddressed that we used to mock a decade or more ago. When the em Facis is put on the wrong SilLABLE it's really hard to listen to in my head. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Josh Sent: Thursday, July 26, 2007 1:33 PM To: Gamers Discussion list Subject: Re: [Audyssey] sound rts other suggestion you can get some good voices at nextup.com for $35 or $40 a voice. Re: [Audyssey] for tom.
Reinstalling WINDOWS is almost NEVER the way to go. I've only seen it actually necessary in one out of several hundred cases I've worked with. You just shouldn't have to do something that drastic. If you're having trouble with something specific go to the MICROSOFT page and look for a solution there. They will usually talk you through the fix or direct you to an automated one that will do the job for you. If not, Google it, but be careful who gives you advice there. If you do decide to do a reinstall of WINDOWS remember to first uninstall your access and anything else that gets installed with copy counts so you don't lose them and have to deal with replacement. ANd remember before rolling back to the beginning of WINDOWS on your machine you can always try rolling back to different restore points . We just had a terrible mess when my husband said yes to a microsoft update he thought was offered and something was installed instead with 176 programs (there haven't been that many since XP was installed on his machine. It took out his audio and flipped video without the unflip option and whew, but a restore to a prior incarnation and all was well again in a matter of minutes. No, There is a debug option for Internet Explorer and another just below it for OTHER. I have them both turned off since I'm not in the debugging business and don't want things to stop if they encounter a bug I can't fix. Re: [Audyssey] Sapi issues
I don't know if it will help because I'm not having problems, but when debug is turned on and a bug is encountered in a program, Microsoft tells you of the bug, stops the program and lets you either fix it or just sto the program. It will often (maybe always) not work through the bug itself. I found when I turned debug off that I sailed marily past bugs in programs that had nothing to do with me or my operation without even being aware they were there. It's worth a try. Re: [Audyssey] Problum when Starting Monty
According to Wikipedia... "Some drivers only support one version of DirectX. Prior to DirectX 10, DirectX was considered backward compatible, which means that newer versions supported the older versions. For example, if one had DirectX 9 installed on one's system and ran a game that was written for DirectX 6, it would still work. The game used what was called the DirectX 6 "interface". Every version of DirectX supported every previous version of DirectX. This is a positive consequence of the COM model used for this API." There are also a couple programs on that page that fix DirectX on computers. I don't know if they are safe or good to run or not... Re: [Audyssey] Selling accessible games was piracy of games?
You must not have talked with Amazon.com because they don't care about your market size. They advertise, they handle the sale, you ship the product. You don't get orders, that's your problem. I'm sure you pay something for the opportunity, but it's clearly not a lot from the people who sell there. I pay seems to me about $.60 per CD and jewel case Replacement CD recording units are what maybe $30 or $40 and you just stuff them in your computer. We've burned probably 400 CD's and are still doing it on the same burner. So that's ten cents a CD if the burner dies tomorrow. You might get it up to a dollar with a label and wrap. You charge for shipping so that's covering packaging costs. And this is when you're dealing in the 50 and 100 quantities. Kathy Seven Williams http://kseven.blogspot.com (New 6/8/07) -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Bryan Peterson Sent: Tuesday, July 03, 2007 11:20 PM To: Gamers Discussion list Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Selling accessible games was piracy of games? But you still have to consider the cost of CD creation, not to mention the hardware itself. The CD burners we all have on our machines, as Thomas Ward's already said, aren't designed for mass production. Give them a couple hundred burns and they go out on you. Even though Amazon.com might be willing, they'd need informatinon the size of the market (which is another stumbling block because as much as we hate to admit it we're a minority), and if enough people aren't interested they're not going to go for it. [Audyssey] Leather Goddesses
Hello, K7 here. I'm new on the list and relatively new to gaming. I started Leather Goddesses back in Dos Days, but never finished the game.Seems I'm stuck in the swamp surrounded by man eating plants if memory serves which it hasn't for years. Anyhow, I really want to play it on my Pacmate. I've got ZipCe and can open the game and get past the disclaimers to where it says to hit ENTER to begin the game, and I can't , for the life of me, find a way to "Hit Enter" since hitting Enter doesn't do the trick. I've got several 5Z games I really would like to play if I can find a way to get them to work on the Pacmate. Any help? And as long as I took sword in hand to tap out a message, I was trying to get onto discworld.atuin.net which is the discworld (Terry Pratchet) Moo. I can log on, but the telnet client I have for the pacmate only sees the first part of each line and I hate to make a half-hearted go of it. The telnet clients I have on the PC aren't much better with JAWS. Navigation back and forth, to pick up name spelling and so on is just really hard if not impossible.Again, any help? Thanks much!
