Re: [Audyssey] VIP mud client
Hi Keith, You don't need a screen reader with VIPMud and can have everything spoken via SAPI. I guess I would say its better than MushZ, but why not try the demo and try it out for yourself? :D On 3/30/13, Keith ks.steinbac...@gmail.com wrote: How easy is the VIP mud client to use with lets say, Window Eyes? Re: [Audyssey] VIP mud client
I'll also add that the practical differences betwene the free or commercial versions of vipmud are very slight, since the only real difference is that the commercial version has script debugging and msp support (and the only ame I know with lots of msp is materiamagica). Even the 30 minute limit isn't so bad since you can just log straight back in afterwards. Due to some shenanigans the first time I tried vipmud, I actually ended up playing with the standard version with no premium features for rather a long time before I concluded I enjoyed muds and that program enough to wish to pay for it. While I was very glad to buy the program and support David greenwood as a developer, I would've been quite happy continuing with the free version for all the actual difference it made to my mudding. So, that is another reason to try the demo, since even if you don't! wish to pay, it's still a good mud client anyway, (though not paying if you enjoy the client would be rather stingy). Re: [Audyssey] VIP mud client
Hi Kieth. I actually think vip mud is a much easier client to use than mush z, both in scripting, connection, reviewing text etc, whether you use sapi, window eyes or whatever. indeed, the only time I use mush z myself is for the alteraeon soundpack, and even then I miss some of vipmud's features such as the ability to instantly search for a word in the output window and transfer it to the command line, or to be able to tab betwene the output and input windows and use arrows to view last sent ttext or last typed commands (great for looking at battle logs). I'd highly recommend vipmud, particularly since A, there is a free demo, and B, as I said in my reply to Thomas' message, even if you decide not! to pay for the program you can still pretty much carry on using it for as long as you like with little or no restrictions, albeit that would! be a trifle stingy since David greenwood did put a lot of workk into the client. [Audyssey] VIP mud client users advice needed
Hi, I'm looking for a person who uses VIP mud client for use with mud games to answer a few questions for me. Like is there a way for the VIP mud client to self voice using my window eyes screen reaer voice. When I was exploring the VIP client, I had to use the virtual mouse to read what was going on in the output window. Also, it seems that I can hit the alt key and arrow to the right 2 times, but then I have to select a game called valhalla or my alter aeon world I created, or some other things. So I have to cancel out of that. Not sure how to get to the tools or what not. Thanks Also, does VIP mud have a copy output function that would allow me to copy the output window into a text document for reading after I close the mud down. Re: [Audyssey] VIP mud client users advice needed
Hi Kieth. I do not use window eyes, but I can hopefully answer your questions. Firstly yes, vipmud will output directly to window eyes along with other screen readers or ms sapi, you however need to enable this in the tools menue. When you start the program, your given the connection dialogue to choose a character and mud with valhalla, materiamagica, project bob and a few others in it, but just hit escape to go out of that then press alt T for tools, which is a stadnard windows menue so should be read no trouble, select the options you want there, (you can also select whether to have the connect dialogue pop up at start too). I'm not sure what your talking about with alt right arrow unless that is a window eyes command, however you should be able to tab betwene the output window and input list, though obviously if your not playing a mud you won't have any text in there. Alt however will get you to the standard windows menue structure. As to the output window in text, yes, that is quite doable in vipmud. i believe it's an option in either the options or edit menues, but since I don't myself tend to have it enabled by default (I find reviewing the output window with arrow keys during playing the mud more than enough), I'm afraid I don't know where it is, however if you check the manual you will find details of all! the options and info about scripting too. There is also I believe a quick way to switch to window eyes, but again, see the manual for that. Hth.
