[Audyssey] Racing Games
Dear Ishan, There is also a game called Rail Racer. However, it is not free. I have heard a recording of it, and I think that it is quite an impressive game to try out. Hi Angela, Well, there are a few racing games you may want to check out here. The first is a game called Topspeed creeated by http://playinginthedark.net/ which can be played alone or with a group via network game play. Its probably one of the best series of racing games for a V.I. gamer going. The second is a game called Rail Racer by http://blindadrenaline.com/ which is suppose to be a futuristic racing game set in the future where you race pods on rails. Its an interesting and great game for racing fans. The third is a game called Mach 1 developed by http://www.kitchensinc.net and comes in two different versions. There is the original version and a newer TTS version with racing wheel support and SAPI 5 support. There are a few other racing games floating around but are either abandoned or have no site to download. the three above are probably the best racing games for the PC right now. Cheers! Re: [Audyssey] racing games
Hi Michael, Unfortunately not. Those are really the only accessible racing games that have decent game play, support a racing wheel, and are up to date at this time. My own racing game, USA Raceway, is far from complete so that doesn't count yet. All of the other racing games aren't worth your time. For example, Audio Formula 1 sounded good when we first heard about it, but in reality it was poorly designed. It has several bugs, crappy sound effects, and you can't use a racing wheel with it as far as I know. KM 2000, by Code Factory, also has gone the way of the dinosaur. It doesn't support racing wheels, had crappy sound effects, and was a total pain in the butt to play. So it is no great loss to racing fans. That leaves us with Drive--AKA Sneller--which is an ok game, but it was basically a student project. So it isn't a full game, and is more a sample audio game than a full blown audio game. After you play it a few times it isn' any big deal in my opinion. The only currently available racing game that is accessible I truly like is Rail Racer. It has everything a player could want out of a racing game, is accessible, and supports online game play, plus a wheel. yes there are two of them that i know of the first one is call top speed it is totally free to download you need to go to playinginthedark.com and pick top speed 2.1 the other one is call railracer but it is not free it cost 40 dollars you can try the demo for free if you do railracer it is hard and you have to get the direct x file from the guy who made the game -- Email services provided by the System Access Mobile Network. Hi, Sure can. Rail Racer and Top Speed both work well with the Logitech racing wheel. the other free option would be Top Speed 2 from playing in the dark. RailRacer would also be much much fun with that setup, though that one will set you back $40. No others that I know of, but if there is, someone on here will chime in shortly and correct me I'm sure. Re: [Audyssey] Racing games was: The Rail Racer demo is ready to race
Hi Davy, I don't have much time to participate in this list by I do read it once in a while. Playing in the dark is still alive, but I won't go into that now since it might take away attention from Railracer and I think it deserves it. Any new accessible game that comes out is great, especially if it supports multiplayer. I think online multiplayer gaming is the wave of the future in accessible gaming. Anyway, as a developer I can say that the best motivation for writing and improving games is positive feedback (even when pointing out bugs or improvements), so never hesitate to send a developer a simple note saying you're enjoying his or her game!
