Re: [Audyssey] Just tried an Iphone, my thoughts and questions
Just to set a few things straight here. You don't have to convert if not want to. I have many of mp3 files on iPhone and iPod doing just fine. Also have complete books and what ever in mp3. But I mostly like it for backing up everything including my games. When they are put back on you are where you left off in game. Like having two types of save. At 11:18 AM 10/10/2012, you wrote: If you add the folder the books are in to the ITunes library ITunes will prompt you to convert those files to the ITunes format. Don't worry though, they'll still play just fine on your computer and not just in ITunes. Anyway say yes to the convertion. THe next time you sync your device with ITunes the books should be copied to it. Granted doing it manually this way can sometimes cause weird problems where a book gets copied to the IPod but it's listed as unknown. However if you have, say a book on CD, and ou rip it directly into ITunes itself that will not happen. The only downside is that you do have to rip each disc individually and then have to play it individually as well. If there's a more convenient way to do this I don't know. Fair enough. I didn't mean to sound confrontal about it. Was just curious is all. But I do hope it works out... I wasn't really a fan of apple until I got my ipod touch for cheap a while back... and now I love it. My second laptop that I got in 2005 cost around £350, but once again, it was completely used until 2010. indeed, it's still in full working order accept for the headphone socket (it's really irritating they can't be replaced). So I don't mind paying for something as long as it's something I use a lot, and it sounds like that with the Iphone, indeed my brother paid that for his and has used it extremely frequently for the last three years. Re: [Audyssey] Just tried an Iphone, my thoughts and questions
Well I will see how supernova gets on with itunes, though I know it's had the capacity for a while now, though sinse putting audio books and such onto my iphone is one of the major things I want to do, i'll have to see how workable that solution is. As to the price, well though it's a lot well I don't mind paying that sort of cash if I get several years use out of the thing, plus, the chap who's phone I examined paid ^£30 for the handset and then was on a £40 a month contract for two years, which worked out more expensive (my currentphone contract is £10 a month). My original laptop that I got in 2000 cost around £700 (yes, they were that expensive back then!), but it served me extremely well for the next five years, being used literally on a dayly basis, so I'm pretty happy that I got my money's worth. Nice to hear you got the chance that it played with one! I actually use Window-eyes as well, so have no problem with ITunes... but I'm curious... isn't this considered off-topic? - Original Message - From: "Bryan Peterson" To: "Gamers Discussion list" Sent: Wednesday, October 10, 2012 5:47 AM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Just tried an Iphone, my thoughts and questions I've personally had very little trouble with ITnes. Re: [Audyssey] Just tried an Iphone, my thoughts and questions
Hi Dark, Yep, £529 for the 16gb iPhone 5 on these here shores if you buy without a contract... ouch. Something that's worth keeping in mind is that iTunes 11 drops sometime soon, later this month if my memory serves, and there's been quite a big interface overhaul. The new UI seems less cluttered visually, though of course it remains to be seen whether the simplified workflow will also be an improvement for keyboard and screen reader users. Just thought it was worth mentioning, as depending on how fast you move to investigate the dreaded iTunes, you might have to do it twice lol.
