Hi Daniel,

Thank you for the compliments on my games. I am glad that you enjoy my golf
game so much. Yeah, those sand traps are a pain. Not so sure that practice
will help with getting more hole in ones, but practice in general is good.

Not sure what game I might work on next. Want to learn to program for a
joystick slash steering wheel.

Hope you try Homer on a Harley. It is a challenge. My record so far is only
21 buses and I know that the Harley can jump far enough for 40 buses.

BFN and thanks again.

 Jim

Hi Thomas,

Mostly I have been able to write so many games due to my advanced age.
I turned 50 last June eleventh. But you know I have been writing accessible
games since 1990 and computer games since the early eighties. Many of my dos
and now windows games such as draw poker, black jack, star mule etc I had
written as video games back on the T I 99 4 A and Atari 800 XL. I even wrote a
video version of a motorcycle ramp jump game. ( Eval Kneval now Homer on a
Harley ) Homer on a Harley took me three months to write. It would have taken
me much longer if I had not had the experience of writing Mach 1. I did used
to do all nighter coding sessions and I do still spend allot of time coding and
test playing games. Not being as young as I was and the health issues no
longer allow me to do that. Experience probably allows me to do better work
with fewer errors though. I love coding computer games. I knew that I wanted
to since I first wrote code and first played a video game.

BFN

 Jim

A job is nice but it interferes with my life.

Hi,
Right. Some Trek knolege might come in handy when thinking about how to
handle a cloaking device, knowing the difference between a quantom and
photon torpedo, etc but I explained those things in the manual for
newbies that don't know anything about Trek.
Weather you are an absolute Trek nut or not the game is designed to be
fair to everyone weather they watched every TV epasode or none at all.

Hi Ari,
You don't need to know a thing about Star Trek to play STFC. In fact,
the game is designed in such a way that it pulls in Star Trek
enthusiasts, but is also generic enough to be apealing to non-Trek
gamers as well. The game is basically like an advanced interactive board
game, and all the things you need to know to play the game is in the
manual that ships with the game.

Hi Jim,
Yeah, you are definitely the accessible games champion when it comes to
the quantity of accessible games from any single developer. How on earth
did you write so many games. Do you write games 24/7?

Hi Daniel!

I play 3 games that I think are lots of fun and challenging. They are
lone wolf, shades of doom and startrek. You can get these games from
gmagames.com. These games are written by David Greenwood. Thomas Ward at
usegames also has good games but I don't have his, yet.
PS. Lone wolf has the ability of the player to write missions and have them
added to the web site for others to play.

Blessings!

Re: [Audyssey] gamer wanting a challenge!

2007-12-14 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Daniel,
There are several accessible game choices out here, I so happen to be an
accessible game developer myself. Anyway, here is a list of some of my
favorite games out there that are pretty challenging and lots of fun.

1. Rail Racer. This all new game from Blind Adrenaline Symulations
allows you to drive a rail racer at speeds of 300 MPH against an art
racer on several different styles of rail tracks. in this game you not
only race, but must do several types of stunts such as jumping over
jumps, avoid force fields, take loops, and tight curves all with good
training and skill. If you are really good you can sign up to play
against the best Rail Racers over the net in network game play. It is
one of the most challenging and fun games out there right now if you are
into motor sports.
You can get Rail Racer from:
http://www.blindadrenaline.com
2. GMA Tank Commander. Take command of a modern tank for some sserious
combat against enemy forces. Complete six objectives including
destroying inteligence bases, hunting down ammo and supply trucks,
destroy a train carrying troops, and more as you lead the allies to
victory. Again one of the most realistic and fun blind accessible games
out there. You can get GMA Tank Commander from:
http://www.gmagames.com
3. Star Trek Final Conflict. Take command of the Federation fleet as you
defend the Federation from Klingons, Romulans, and Borg in this turn
based combat strategy game. It's very challenging for most gamers and
you can find it at my web site:
http://www.usagames.us
4. Montezuma's Return. In this all new side-scroller you can take the
roll of Angela Summers as she navigates Emperor Montezuma's forgotten
fortress hunting for gems, gold, and other lost treasures. You must
avoid or flee several traps and monsters. You can find a demo of the
current test release from my web site:
http://www.usagames.us
5. Sarah And the Castle Of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In this all new FPS
game play Sarah, a teenage girl, as she breaks in to Hogwarts for an
evening of magic making and exploration. Drop in to visit some of the
characters from the Harry Potter books, avoid the caretaker, and solve
lots of puzzles. You can get it from:
http://www.pcsgames.net
6. Monkey Business. After Dr. Smegles lab has been robbed you must set
out on an adventure to capture all the monkeys from the lab and locate
all the missing teleporters. Along the way you must explore such places
as the jungle, ancient Aztec temple, climb a wall of vines, navigate
deadly ledges, visit a western town, and more. Finally, you must find
Dr. Wobble and defeat him to complete your mission. Sorry, there is no
demo, but it is truly a fun game. You can get it from:
http://www.draconisentertainment.com

These are just some of the games out there accessible to us, and prove
to be quite challenging and are fun to play for hours.

Hi Daniel,
Also read Audyssey Magazine, that's how I got started. If you enjoy text
adventures, the back issues of Audyssey really give you goodreviews.

Re: [Audyssey] gamer wanting a challenge!

2007-12-14 Thread Dark
Hi Damniel.

Nice to meet another Uk student type bloke on this list. There is a hole
load of self-voicing games available in different genres from action to
sports available, everything from trivia stuff such as you'd find on
Pressakey.net, to completely 3D virtual environmnet games, where you walk
round a base or castle solving puzles, killing monsters etc. though not all
of them are free, all have playable demos so you can get a feel for if you
like the game first.

for the largest and most uptodate list of audio games, check out the
"fantastic games and where to find them" list on http://www.pcsgames.net/

then, there are quite a few websites and other places that provide games
which you'd be able to play with Jaws. You might particularly like these
sorts of things if your an Rpg fan. For a very nice list see the games to
play online page at http://www.whitestick.co.uk/ongames.html

Then, there are also some fantasy gamebooks wich you might like, and could
read with jaws. These are short rp type adventures where you progress
through the story by choosing links on were to go next, occasionally rolling
dice (often the website will take care of that for you, and if not, there's
a very nice free self-voicing dice program available). you can find a list
of these gamebooks on http://www.whitestick.co.uk/fantasy.html

then, there are streight text adventure games (again accessible with Jaws),
where you progress by typing commands such as "go north" "take pick" etc.
these can also be fun, if you like puzles. to find out more see
http://www.microheaven.com/IFGuide/IFGuide.pl?step=6&c=0

there are some general lists of games which it might help you to have a look
at, and try any you like the look of. personally, i recommend trying as much
as poss, sinse there are a lot of games out there, and even one you don't
initially like the sound of might surprise you.

I could recommend some of my favourites, but I'll save that for another mail
sinse this one is about to explode.

Beware the Grue!

Dark.
