I agree Leon.

 

I remember when SOS was at UF, he noted that the trouble with a lot of QB
prospects is that they are constantly being told how wonderful they are, and
when they get to college, they just can't deal with criticism and being held
to a higher standard than they were in high school.

 

It takes a certain amount of inner strength to stand up to the criticism and
to recognize that the coach is just trying to make you a better player.
Obviously, Danny, Shane, and Rex had it.  Terry Dean and Doug Johnson seemed
to have issues.

should say. He gave a straight-forward appraisal of performance problems and

I would like to know if that's a real and accurate quote. It does sound in
character for SOS, and I don't doubt that what he says is true.

We certainly know that Doug played minor league baseball that summer and did
show up in August out-of-shape, or as Doug put it, he was "in baseball
shape," not football shape.

That is my memory as well.  Doug was a loose cannon on deck.  I believe he has 
done a lot of maturing since then.  So has Randy.
