What about Neotarf's post, which you quoted, would merit moderation and
under what principle? It seemed perfectly civil and constructive to me,
even if Neotarf does miss the point a bit as Risker noted.

it's the kind of other stuff exist argument that goes on all the time
during deletion discussion, (that may not be appropriate here)

a better example might be
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warren_Weinstein

If the event is significant and the individual's role within it is
substantial and well-documented—as in the case of John Hinckley, Jr., who
shot President Ronald Reagan in 1981—a separate biography may be
appropriate. The significance of an event or individual is indicated by how
persistent the coverage is in reliable sources.

[Gendergap] In case you missed the @WeAreWikipedia Twitter

2014-12-23 Thread Sarah Stierch
...Roberta from the UK made a storify of some selected moments, including
my tenure as the account writer..

https://storify.com/robertawedge/a-few-thoughts-on-gendergap-and-wikiwomen-etc

She makes great points about the lack of diversity often seen at chapters.

It seems to be the same people who run the WeAreWikipedia account, so they
need some fresh people, please consider participating yourself. It was
REALLY great experience for me..

Re: [Gendergap] In case you missed the @WeAreWikipedia Twitter

2014-12-23 Thread Axel Pettersson
Hi,
I agree with Sarah. Both the community, chapters and the @WeAreWikipedia
account needs more diversity. I'm a white, West European, middle aged(?)
male, working at a chapter (Wikimedia Sweden) and I'm running
@WeAreWikipedia for the second time now. As I got asked to apply last
weekend I doubt there is a huge crowd waiting to curate, so I recommend you
to sign up, http://wearewikipedia.wordpress.com/take-part/.

Also recommending you to read the Storify Roberta Wedge put together, both
the one about her week as curator (
https://storify.com/robertawedge/my-week-on-wearewikipedia) and the one
with our (Wikimedia Sweden) blog with X-mas greetings and stupid ads (
https://storify.com/robertawedge/a-few-thoughts-on-gendergap-and-wikiwomen-etc
).

(Don't be fooled by my face next to her tweets, it's a Storify embedding
twitter issue. Next week someone else (you?) will be there.)

Best regards
/axel
