Re: [VOTE] Release Apache Fineract 0.5.0 (incubating)

2016-12-19 Thread Nazeer Shaik
Hi Justin, thank you for reviewing the release.

1) I would remove the list of software included in the binary release from
the source release LICENSE file. It’s fine to have two different license
files. The LICENSE may also be missing a license for jquery [1]?
Nazeer: The existing JQuery license file suffice for v1.9.1, v1.10.2. I
will add different license file for v1.7, v1.7.1 as these two are coming
with different copyright notice. I will discuss with my mentors on having
different license files for binary and source.

The convenience binary file is missing LICENSE, NOTICE and DISCLAIMER in
the top level, however the LICENSE and NOTICE file is inside the war and
look correct. Can you fix this in the next release please.
Nazeer: Sure I will move them as suggested.

2016-12-19 Thread Nazeer Shaik
Thank you John for reviewing the release. From the following links we
understood that we need at least 3 binding votes and with no vetoes for
release approval.
http://incubator.apache.org/guides/releasemanagement.html#note-votes
https://httpd.apache.org/dev/guidelines.html

So just dropped a mail to remind the mentors to verify the release :-)

Re: [VOTE] Release Apache Fineract 0.5.0 (incubating)

2016-12-21 Thread Nazeer Shaik
Hi Roman, thank you for reviewing the release.

* the format of your hashes is not super convenient for an automatic
comparison, being compatible with command line tools is probably a
good idea
[Nazeer] Can you give some more details please. May be a link to some
Apache projects will help us to change hash formats :-)
  * I feel that including both LICENSE and LICENSE.md may confuse people
[Nazeer] Will work on this in next releases
  * I am really happy you've integrated rat check into the build, but
it would be really nice if you could make it available from the top
level folder
[Nazeer] rat is configured in such way, it will check all directories and
files from top level directory. I feel current approach is OK. Please let
us know otherwise
  * I seems weird that you release war file in a tarball instead of a Maven
repo
[Nazeer] Will start a discussion with Fineract community and will take
their opinion also.

Thanks,
Nazeer

Re: [VOTE] Release Apache Fineract 0.6.0 (incubating)

2017-01-11 Thread Nazeer Shaik
Hi John,

Thank you for reviewing this release.

1) I have kept https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FINERACT-357 open as
we have addressed 4 out of 6 suggestions given for 0.5.0-incubating
release. Other two will be addressed in next/future releases. I have added
these details in note section of current release email.

2) You need to follow the build instructions mentioned in the readme.md
file to build from source. We have mentioned these details on every release.

*Build & RAT verification steps can be found at:*

https://github.com/apache/incubator-fineract/blob/0.6.0-incubating/README.md
or refer 'README.md' in *apache-fineract-0.6.0-incubating-src.tar.gz*

Please let us know if you are still not able to build after following these
steps.

2017-01-12 Thread Nazeer Shaik
Hi John,

We have closed the Jira issue
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FINERACT-357 and created two separate
jira issues for remaining two items.RAT is integrated such a way it will
check all directories and files from top level directory. So nothing will
be missed.

Thanks,
Nazeer

Hi John,

As you suggested we have closed the issue https://issues.apache.org/
jira/browse/FINERACT-357 and created two separate issues to address
remaining 2 suggestions/reviews.

With this change, can we assume your vote is +1? :-)

--- DISCLAIMER Apache Fineract is an effort undergoing incubation at The
Apache Software Foundation (ASF), sponsored by the Apache Incubator PMC.
Incubation is required of all newly accepted projects until a further
review indicates that the infrastructure, communications, and decision
making process have stabilized in a manner consistent with other successful
ASF projects. While incubation status is not necessarily a reflection of
the completeness or stability of the code,it does indicate that the project
has yet to be fully endorsed by the ASF.
