[gentoo-user] problem with asus a6tc and nvidia sound chipset
Hello all, I have an integrated sound chip using snd-hda-intel driver. The chipset is MCP51 High Definition Audio I used this page to set my soundcard: http://kompi.homelinux.org/home/patrick/asus_a6tc-howto/#sound But still I have not the correct sound devices. I am under gentoo. The sound is working fine, but the pc speaker and programs using oss does'nt work. modprobe snd-hda-intel model=asus-laptop position_fix=1 or position_fix=2 does not resolve the problem when launching alsamixer for example. Magnus Varmfors wrote: Hi there! I think it'd be CONFIG_BLK_DEV_LOOP, yes. But if you set it to "y", it's compiled into kernel and isn't a module. If you want it to be a module, set it to "m". In menuconfig, it's Device Drivers -> Block Devices -> Loopback device support. At least in 6.11.x. I put this in .config: CONFIG_BLK_DEV_LOOP=m Now I run make && make modules && make modules_install or just make modules && make modules_install (I use kernel 2.6.11) Thank you .
