[Geoserver-users] geoserver error: No target store for task

2021-11-14 Thread Levy Steve
I am trying to import a first kml file utilizing importer in version 2.20.0
of geoserver. I receive the above error message and then a longer traceback
listed below:
I found an older conversation on the devel queue for the same concern
suggesting that a cause is that the data directory cannot be found. I am
running on windows 10 64 bit.
Is there a way to confirm that I do or do not have an issue with the
program accessing the data directory correctly, as the best i can tell all
is fine. Or, is there another explanation?

Hi George,

It seems like the EnterpriseDB postgresql distribution is running a web server
with the same default port as Apache Tomcat(8080), so you need to stop it and
maybe disable it too, then restart Tomcat-Geoserver instance.

There is some questions and answers about disabling it on windows:

Hi,
looks like your wms.xml configuration file got ruined in the data directory.
Try replacing it with this one:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/geoserver/geoserver/2.1.x/data/release/wms.xml

Cheers

Interesting, that portion of the code is indeed prone to NPE, along with
other methods in the same class, as they work off a transient map
that XStream won't populate by itself while deserializing from disk.
I guess some other code is in charge for filling it, but I'm not familar
with that portion of GeoServer. Kevin, Gabriel, cc'ed, might
have a clue as to why this is happening

Cheers

Re: [Geoserver-users] [Geoserver] Error adding WFS Layer

2013-07-18 Thread Mark Loper
OK, I figured this out.  Deep in the log files there was a SSL certificate
error that caused the server to not be able to download the schema for this
WFS.  The solution would have been faster but I didn't realize that GeoServer
came with it's own JVM so I was updating the root certificate file in my
default java install.  After I found the separate JVM it was easy enough to
update the cacerts file.  Once this was done the problem was solved.

I'm trying to add a layer that is hosted by a ERDAS-Apollo WFS server.  I can
create the Datastore and see the available data sets just fine, however when I
go to publish one of the layers it error's out with the following message:

Based on my understanding, Geoserver can't figure out what to do with
DDMS_SMARTS.  But I don't control this server, it is external to me, I just
need the data upon request.  So, what can I do?

Here's the URL for the WFS, you're welcome to give it a try:

In my gwc directory I have the following

diskquota_page_store

geowebcache-diskquota.xml

geowebcache.xml
..and my cached tiles as well

do you mean delete just  "meta_jdbc_h2" or the whole lot?

I believe the metastore has been corrupted (maybe the geoserver process was
killed or crashed mid way?)
You probably need to stop GeoServer, wipe out all the metastore and maybe also
the tile cache, and restart

I'm just trying to guess, the GWC maintainer would have better answers but he's
away in vacation for a couple of weeks.

Cheers

Re: [Geoserver-users] GEOSERVER ERROR: Bounding box coordinates (meta data) are changing in oracle exadata during layer configuration in Geoserver

2011-10-18 Thread Harikumar Reddy
Hi Andrea,

I am sorry if something is wrong in my title or post., its not my intention
to make anyone (group) feel bad. I appreciate your help most of the times
(also remembering christian muller, somone's help etc). AFAIK, it is not
helpdesk but knowledge sharing by all GS users. I have given new type of
geoserver error because, i didnot find any one encountered this type of
error or since 2-3 years, i cannot come across this type of error.

I will take care in future, if i publish any new message on forum.

Regards,
Hari.

Writing messages in all capitals equates to shouting, it's basic mail
convention and covered in most netiquette guides:
http://www.hoax-slayer.com/do-not-use-all-capitals.html

As for the actual problem at hand, the usual advices apply: please
provide a way for other people to reproduce your problem, which
normally means a data sample (sql script to load data in your case)
and a request that shows the problem, or the list of steps to reproduce
the problem if you're using the web administration GUI.

Cheers
Andrea

Re: [Geoserver-users] Geoserver Error

2011-10-14 Thread Andreas Mitrou
Hello Christian,

Thank you a lot for your interest!

As fas as the jdk, the version i use is from Sun.

The weird thing is that the installation was made before 6 months and
everything worked fine (except some problems, which i dealed by restaring
tomcat) until yesterday where the cpu and ram of the host machine was upgraded

Also i forgot to mention that this installation is on a virtual machine, using
Zen.

So is there any chance these hardware changes to the host machine, to cause
these problems to geoserver and geonetwork which are running in the virtual
machine?

Changing version of tomcat means that i should do all the deployments from the
begining is that correct?

Thank you a lot!
Andreas

This is a warning only. Tomcat has its own servlet.jar and informs you that it
will not use the servlet.jar from geoserver.

Offending class: javax/servlet/Servlet.class". After tomcat starts in tomcat
manager, geoserver is not started and when i am trying to start it i get FAIL -

I had a lot of trouble running geoserver on CentOS 5.6. Two things made my
problems disappear.

1) use sun(oralce) java instead of open jdk. Did you switch to sun java using
the alternatives mechanism described here
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/JavaOnCentOS#head-42e9afa9c99251820007bc780c3fe72bca6eae5c

2) Switching to tomcat6 as described here

[Geoserver-users] Geoserver Error

2011-10-13 Thread Andreas Mitrou
Hello Everyone ,

I have an installation environment in a virtual machine with CentOS 5.5.6 as
operating system , Tomcat 5.5.23, JDK 1.6.0.24,  Geoserver 2.1-RC2, Geonetwork.
By the time the administrator upgraded CPU and RAM geoserver throws an error on
tomcat start up
"validateJarFile(/home/mikevdg/tomcat/webapps/geoserver_2.1/WEB-INF/lib/servlet-api-2.4.jar)
 - jar not loaded.  Offending class: javax/servlet/Servlet.class". After tomcat
starts in tomcat manager, geoserver is not started and when i am trying to
start it i get FAIL - Application at context path /geoserver could not be
started.

I disabled AdvancedDispatchFilter in web.xml and
afterwards i remove the servlet-api-2.4 jar from
geoserver/WEB-INF/lib and tomcat crashes.

Also i shoud inform you that i am facing also a problem with geonetwork but not
with the same error messages (the errors are relative with the address that is
running)

Could you please help me?

It may be that you have low traffic and the EPSG database gets
disposed, and then there are issues briging it back up.
You should try upgrading to 2.1.1, we've changed the code so that the
EPSG database is never released.
I'm just guessing though, never have seen that particular issue in production

For two days now,  I am facing a service exception in Geoserver GetCapabilities
document with the following description: Recursive call while creating a
'LongitudeFirstEpsgDecorator' object.

When i use free Locks and free Memory and clear Resource Cache everything is ok
but after some hours the same problem appears...

My Geoserver version is 2.1 RC2 deployed under Tomcat 5.5 on CentOS

Any Ideas what may happen?

[Geoserver-users] geoserver error interpretation when trying to commit features through openlayers.

2011-01-27 Thread Robert Buckley
Hi,

could anyone help me interprete this error. The org.geoserver.filter ip at the
end has been traced to Trend Microservices - the Trend virus protection on our
system.

Im actually more interested in why commiting features over wfs-t doesn´t work
on
Ubuntu 8.04.

cheers,

Robert
