Re: [Geoserver-users] geoserver upgrade - login fail

2021-10-19 Thread Nicolas De Ville de Goyet

Dear all,

Thank you for your replies.

Downgrading to version 2.18.5 seems to solve the password issue. I'll
try your solution of admin password reset with newer version.

If all else fails you can reset the admin password in that file to
plain text and then update all (including admin) passwords from the
GUI (that should then use the new encryption algo).

2021-10-14 Thread Andrea Aime
That's one big jump... thinking out loud, it might be related to the JDK
used in the two cases.
The JDK contains the cryptography routines, maybe in one you had the strong
crypto installed,
and in the other you don't? However, recent versions of OpenJDK should have
the strong cryptography built-in

[Geoserver-users] geoserver upgrade - login fail

2021-10-14 Thread Nicolas De Ville de Goyet

Dear all,

I just upgraded my geoserver instance from 2.13 to 2.19.2 and I can't
login anymore. The error message is :

 * Invalid username/password combination.

Nothing comes out in the logs.

I transferred the data directory to the new geoserver and all my layers
can be previewed. If I check the file
./geoserver/data/security/usergroup/default/users.xml I can still see
all the registered users.

What am I missing? Are there an additional steps to perform for a
successful update?

Thanks for your help.

[Geoserver-users] Geoserver upgrade 2.11 -> 2.12 integrated gwc nota vailable

2018-02-15 Thread Davor Racic
Hi everyone.

After upgrade 2.11.x -> 2.12.x, geoserver page redirects me to /gwc page
instead of /web, and when I try to go to "Seed->truncate" in Geoserver GUI
i'm getting HTTP 404:

No mapping found for HTTP request with URI
[/geoserver/gwc/rest/seed/workspacename:layername] in DispatcherServlet
with name 'dispatcher'

Geoserver is behind NGINX proxy (proxy base url is ok, and I also tried
with proxy base url setting in web.xml), but the same error is present when
I use Geoserver directly (Tomcat 8080). Everything worked fine on 2.11. On
the other hand, tiled layers are working as they should. Can any
configuration setting cause this kind of behavior?

Best regards
Davor

[Geoserver-users] Geoserver upgrade 2.7.x -> 2.8.x - styling changed

2016-10-24 Thread dracic
So i was testing upgrade from 2.7 to 2.8 and also possibly from 2.7 to 2.9,
and noticed some changes in styles

2.7.x :

2.8.x and also 2.9.x

There is a slight difference in labels. They look flattened in newer
versions. This is the label part of the sld:

oznaka

  Nimbus Sans L
  16
  normal

  0.5
  0.5

  2

#FF
0.7

  #00
  0.95

  yes
  true

Layers are rendered in the app in EPSG:3765, but the same result can be seen
when rendered in WEB Mercator. Any idea what could be the cause of this
behavior?

Thanks

Subject: [EXTERNAL][Geoserver-users] GeoServer upgrade issue from 2.2.5

I have a WMS layer using a Rendering Transformation for a parameterized SQL
View layer (which calls a database function).
Upgrading from an old version of GeoServer we’ve experienced a massive
performance problem with this layer.

When setting logging to verbose, the old version produced SQL something like:

SELECT encode(ST_AsBinary(ST_Force_2D("location")),'base64') as
"location","myval" FROM (select location, thevalue as myval
from myschema.get_data( 70,50 )) as "vtable" WHERE  "location" &&
ST_GeomFromText('POLYGON ((-26.823634473210518 6.409727748826477,
-26.823634473210518 33.560993640777525, 0.3276314187394202 33.560993640777525,
0.3276314187394202 6.409727748826477, -26.823634473210518 6.409727748826477))',
4326)

The new version shows:
SELECT encode(ST_AsEWKB("location"),'base64') as "location","myval" FROM
(select location, thevalue as myval from myschema.get_data( 70,50 )) as "vtable"

The lack of spatial filter causes a huge performance problem since about 100
times as many rows are returned and the Barnes Surface transformation gobbles
up all the CPU and GeoServer becomes unresponsive.
Any thoughts about what could be causing the spatial filter to no longer be
added?
What I’ve read in other threads hasn’t really made this clear to me.

Thanks,

Simon Hartley

ST_GeomFromText('POLYGON ((-26.823634473210518 6.409727748826477,

-26.823634473210518 6.409727748826477))', 4326)

The new version shows:

SELECT encode(ST_AsEWKB("location"),'base64') as "location","myval" FROM
(select location, thevalue as myval from myschema.get_data( 70,50 )) as
"vtable"

The lack of spatial filter causes a huge performance problem since about
100 times as many rows are returned and the Barnes Surface transformation
gobbles up all the CPU and GeoServer becomes unresponsive.

Any thoughts about what could be causing the spatial filter to no longer be
added?

What I’ve read in other threads hasn’t really made this clear to me.

Thanks,

Simon Hartley

Re: [Geoserver-users] GeoServer upgrade issue from 2.2.5

2016-07-15 Thread Daniel Araujo Miranda
Hi Simon,
I have no experience with rendering transformations, but I would
suggest you first check the basics again (configuration was ported
correctly, test conditions for your two examples are the same).
Then maybe try finding the change in the WPS module from 2.2.5 to
your current version that triggered that specific behaviour change.
Doing that is a bit over my head right now, but it would provide you
with the exact description of what happened and maybe help you with a
workaround/patch/bug report/performance regression report.

At first glance I thought it had something to do with the CQL filter,
I did a bit of researching and it doesn't seem to be the case.

Good luck.

I have a WMS layer using a Rendering Transformation for a parameterized SQL
View layer (which calls a database function).
Upgrading from an old version of GeoServer we've experienced a massive
performance problem with this layer.

When setting logging to verbose, the old version produced SQL something like:

SELECT encode(ST_AsBinary(ST_Force_2D("location")),'base64') as
"location","myval" FROM (select location, thevalue as myval
from myschema.get_data( 70,50 )) as "vtable" WHERE  "location" &&
ST_GeomFromText('POLYGON ((-26.823634473210518 6.409727748826477,
-26.823634473210518 33.560993640777525, 0.3276314187394202 33.560993640777525,
0.3276314187394202 6.409727748826477, -26.823634473210518 6.409727748826477))',
4326)

The new version shows:
SELECT encode(ST_AsEWKB("location"),'base64') as "location","myval" FROM
(select location, thevalue as myval from myschema.get_data( 70,50 )) as "vtable"

Re: [Geoserver-users] Geoserver upgrade

2012-12-06 Thread cmaul
David,

nononono not everything at once. Not on a production machine. Please do the
following:

install the war file as is, check WMS/WFS/etc. check log files, then stop.

add all the add-ons: database, WPS, raster formats whatever you need, start,
read the log files, check the services, then stop again. I there are
problems repeat it one by one.

Create a database connection to your main database by hand, publish a layer,
check it with 'preview', if everything works delete both, then stop.

*Only as a last step*
Change over to your data directory (web.xml, container var, java var or
system var ).

Did your first attempt actually work on the data directory intended, i.e.
the one you thought it would work on?

Cheers

Christian

[Geoserver-users] Geoserver upgrade

2012-12-06 Thread Alvey,David (Chief Executives)
Hi is there any special steps to upgrade from 2.1.3 to 2.2.2 on a windows
server. We attempted it last night but could not get geoserver to restart.
Plenty of loggs where generated but to be honest they do not mean much to us.
In the end we had to role back the server.

Does the data dir contain all that is needed to transfer settings from one
geoserver install to another?

Cheers in advance.

Yep, let us know, 2.1.3 is 6 months old and there is nothing that can be done
there, 2.1.4 is already out but if you get some report in soon there might
be hope for 2.1.5, which could be the last one release of the 2.1.x series

Btw, for the record, just installed a fresh 2.1.4 on a XP 32 bit
desktop, GeoServer
running as a service:
* I can edit the WMS title without issues, the change is retained and reflected
  in the capabilities document
* can add new layers, they are retained and it's possible to find them in
  the capabilities and preview them

Hi folks, hi Andrea,
our production GeoServer 2.1.2 is running under Windows Server 2008 R2 using
a full 32-bit setup (Tomcat 6). When trying to upgrade the 2.1.2 test system
(incl. a copy of the production datastore) to 2.1.3 I had the same errors
like Andy (could not create a new layer or change the layer settings) and
Klaus (12 decimal places - former 2 decimal places when computing the
bounding boxes from data + all gui texts are in the local explorer
settings (german - I really would like a gui switch option for using EN)).
The admin gui console 2.1.3 only works when I'm logged on local to the
server - comming remote from a client machine every gui confirm action
fails.

I agree to Klaus: definitely a problem here. I will test the 2.1.4 version
in a few days

Cheers

Re: [Geoserver-users] Geoserver upgrade

2012-06-13 Thread Nji, Klaus
I also noticed that with 2.1.3, we now have 12 decimal places on each
coordinate when computing the bounding boxes from data. On 2.1.2, it was 2
decimal places. Otherwise, I do not see any significant difference between the
layer configurations.

If I modify layer properties through the admin console and save these changes,
refreshing the layer list does not reflect these changes. If I also go through
the back door by editing the xml files directly and restarting the service,
changes are not reflected upon layer refresh. This is all happening on 2.1.3.

Definitely a problem here.

I'm on Windows Server 2008 Standard. I thought it was a layer creation problem
at first, but its strange that I can go to Services/WFS, change the Title and
it saves, but Services/WMS change the title won't save. Installing version
2.1.2 using a war file and everything works again without touching the data.
The only thing I have noticed is that with 2.1.2 the Geoserver service starts
immediately, but with 2.1.3 I have to start the service manually the first time.

Re: [Geoserver-users] Geoserver upgrade

2012-06-13 Thread Andy Berry
I'm on Windows Server 2008 Standard. I thought it was a layer creation problem
at first, but its strange that I can go to Services/WFS, change the Title and
it saves, but Services/WMS change the title won't save. Installing version
2.1.2 using a war file and everything works again without touching the data.
The only thing I have noticed is that with 2.1.2 the Geoserver service starts
immediately, but with 2.1.3 I have to start the service manually the first time.

I just downloaded 2.1.4 and was able to both modify a style and add a
new layer...
not sure what's going on in your case.

I see Klaus is on Windows, is Andy on the same?
I am on Linux, that said, I know of people using GeoServer 2.1.3 on
Windows Azure without layer configuration issues...

Cheers

I have a related problem with 2.1.3 and 2.1.4. I cannot seem to add a new
Resource (layer).I have not yet received a response for my problem so I
ended up creating a support ticket.

Subject: [Geoserver-users] Geoserver upgrade

I am experiencing problems with the upgrading of a test geoserver.
We are running live with Geoserver version 2.1.0. I have made a copy of the
data and installed a second copy of Tomcat on a different port. Installing
Geoserver version 2.1.0, pointing at the copied data works fine.
Upgrading to 2.1.1 works fine, as does upgrading to 2.1.2.
However when I upgrade to version 2.1.3 or 2.1.4 I am unable to edit some areas
of geoserver.
For example I cannot change the default style under edit layer.
If I try to edit any of the WMS service settings such as changing the Title,
this also fails, but I can change the title in the WFS settings.
I am sure its not access rights on the files as all the problems above work
fine on version 2.1.0 to 2.1.2
Please help
