I can get that error message using the nufraw-gimp plugin from the ubuntu ppa 'myway' Even with the error message, it works though but only 8 bit into Gimp 2.8.18 or Gimp 2.9.5. For 16 bit straight into Gimp 2.9.5 then I had to compile the plugin (latest 0.38) with the Gimp 2.9 packages. Works fine, a nice alternative to the other, IMHO over complicated options. rich: www.gimp-forum.net Attachments: * http://www.gimpusers.com/system/attachments/347/original/nuFRaw.jpg -- rich2005 (via www.gimpusers.com/forums) ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-user-list

[Gimp-user] Resyntheszer
snipped all the repeated quotes Apart from the actual resynthesizer plugin. If you are are single-user. The place for your plugins is in your gimp profile ~/.gimp-2.8/plug-ins It might be traditional, but compiling a plugin is not for everyone. Lots of never-to-be-used-again dev packages cluttering the system up. Old code that throws up errors due to compiler syntax changes. Some linux distros do have a single packages for some plugins. Debian has a monster, gimp-plugin-registry_amd64.deb - 24 plugins/164 scripts. What to do with that. One way is install it, copy the required files from /usr/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/ to your gimp profile. Then uninstall the package. A better way is download the deb and unpack it, to get the files. Arc will unpack a .deb A final way is ask someone for the files. http://www.mediafire.com/file/erydszotjxttk57/resynth-buntu-64bit.zip Did this for someone a few months back, contains just 3 files, resynthesizer resynthesizer-gui plugin-heal-selection.py rich: www.gimp-forum.net -- rich2005 (via www.gimpusers.com/forums) ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-user-list

I do use PClinuxOS, a rpm based distro same as 'Suse and the problem with BIMP is it uses a outdated Perl package libpcre3 which is AFAIK peculiar to Debian. So for PClinuxOS, compiled the BIMP plugin in Debian and 'stole' the libpcre.so.3 file to manually install. BIMP in my gimp profile, the other in usr/lib... Hello my name is Enrique, I am student from the Masters Degree Program in Medical Physics of the National Politechnic Institute in Mexico City. I work with lots of medical images, creating algorithms to perform authomatic segmetation of organs. Actually i'm working with liver segmetation on children. I use Gimp to normalize my images but since they are on 16-bit Gimp authomaticaly convert them in 8-Bit, but as expected i loose data on that step. [Gimp-user] upgrading libpng to => 1.6.25
I'm running ubuntu 16.4, 64bit, and im trying to compile the 2.9.x latest release from github. I want both 2.8 and 2.9 so I'm not using the ppa from otto which replaces 2.8. I build 2.9 in a separate dir and did it successfully about 3 months ago but now I"ve got a problem. I've chased the problem down to the requirement for libpng >= 1.6.25 Ubuntu 16.4 uses 1.2.54. Ive found a package for this libpng-dev_1.6.26-2ubuntu1_amd64.deb and have it installed. The problem is when I #sudo apt-get install libgs-dev or any of the following libgdk-pixbuf2.0-dev libgtk2.0-dev librsvg2-dev libxft-dev the apt-pkg system reset the libpng-dev to libpng12-dev because that is a dependency in each of these packages. If I dont install these packages the make fails looking for /usr/share/aclocal/gtk-2.0.m4 and I'm sure that is just the first error. What is the proper way to upgrade the libpng-dev to 1.6.26 so I can compile 2.9.x?
