Re: String additions to 'tomboy.gnome-2-16'

2007-11-26 Thread Johannes Schmid
Hi all!

There seems to be something wrong with the script as the last commit on
tomboy gnome-2-16 branch was about 8 months ago...

This could also be caused by some updates on l10n.gnome.org, as Olav is
trying to update the version of gettext. Not sure if it's the reason ,
but it's possible that more recent versions of gettext are catching more
strings to translate.
Let's monitor this in the following days...

how to translate this string correctly? what's %s, what's %d here, and
isn't a whitespace missing after the colon?
(okay, after taking a look into the code it is the server name and the
port number, but it must be possible to translate all strings without
looking into the code, so please add a translator comment[1] here.
thanks!)

This is not correct. The page you quote above is not the official ISO
639 site, nor is it up to date. It clearly says it was last modified
in 2001.

The official ISO 639 site is http://www.loc.gov/standards/iso639-2/,
and on the language list page
http://www.loc.gov/standards/iso639-2/php/English_list.php you will
find that ISO 639 currently only recognizes the English spelling of
"Pushto".

If you want GNOME to change the language spelling, then please ask the
ISO 639 registration authority to change their recommendation first.

Thanks to Olav, we have now gettext 0.16 on l10n.gnome.org.
Matthias, can you test this on glib ?

Hello, it is clear that Ismail Maskani is not replying. Already more
than a year ago, Mohammad Khalid Amarkhail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
asked for him and for the Pushto / Pashto coordinatorship issue to be
resolved [1]. Sadly, because of many reasons, this has still not
happened.

So the Pushto / Pashto coordinatorship issue still needs to be
resolved. However, assuming that Mohammad Khalid Amarkhail is still
interested, we now have two volunteers for the position.
So I ask you Mohammad, are you still interested in translating GNOME
into Pushto / Pashto, and if so I ask you both would you be willing to
work together?
If so, could you agree on one of you becoming the coordinator, or
should we just decide on one?
Please let us (the gnome-i18n@gnome.org list) know either way.

As for the language spelling issue, please see my response in the
other thread [2]. GNOME just uses the official ISO 639 spelling, so if
you want the spelling changed, please ask the ISO 639 registration
authority to change their recommendation.

String additions to 'accerciser.gnome-2-20'

2007-11-26 Thread GNOME Status Pages
This is an automatic notification from status generation scripts on:
http://l10n.gnome.org/.

There have been following string additions to module 'accerciser.gnome-2-20':

+ "accerciser Copyright © 2006, 2007 IBM Corporation (BSD)"

Note that this doesn't directly indicate a string freeze break, but it
might be worth investigating.
