I'm not 100% certain what specifically you are asking for, but if you
want to save a particular report configuration (such as after selecting
desired accounts) you can do that from the Reports menu. At the bottom
are three options:

1. Saved Report Configurations - brings up a list of previously saved
configurations for editing or running a report with those saved options.

2. Save Report Configuration - overwrites an existing saved
configuration for this report (after opening it from option 1)

3. Save Report Configuration As - saves a new configuration of the
current report.

Options 2 & 3 will show the keyboard shortcuts which are different for

The Help Manual contains all of this info.

I had a similar experience yesterday --

TL;DR -- after updating everything in flatpak and rebooting, the reports
started working again.

DETAIL

My office system runs Ubuntu 21.10, and GnuCash via flatpak. I updated
GnuCash to "4.10+" a couple of days back, but I hadn't run any reports, so
I noticed when folks complained about blank ones. Sure enough, when I tried
them, SOME reports (Transaction Report, notably) were blank, and some
(Income Statement, maybe) were not blank.

So I started digging around trying to figure out how to add the WEBKIT_...
flag to my GNOME launchers to precede the flatpack run command. The
launchers broke. I was able to execute the command from a terminal, but not
in the GNOME desktop launchers.

SO I restored the original launchers, checked flatpak and saw some sort of
platform or locale or nvidia update or something. I installed the flatpak
update, and rebooted (to see if my broken GNOME launcher would work). The
refined launcher was STILL broken, HOWEVER

...next time I tried launching GnuCash WITHOUT the WEBKIT_ flag, the
reports worked.

SO the lesson might be if you're running Flatpak make sure all the flatpak
updates are installed. And maybe reboot?

As for 'help' go to gnucash.org, left hand menu, you find
'Documentation', 'FAQ', and 'Wiki' links. 'Documentation' offers a 'Help
Guide' and a 'Tutorial & Concepts Guide'.

The Help Guide is geared more toward screen/UI explanations, key combos,
etc.

The Tutorial & Concepts Guide is about 'how to use GnuCash'.

You need to read BOTH.

-

Not sure what you mean by deleting a 'file' as that is done in your OS
file manager, not in GnuCash.

I think it was a 3 key sequence, Maybe control & a couple of keys??

2022-03-30 Thread john
Do you perhaps have webkit2gtk-4.0 version 2.36.0? If so, try setting
WEBKIT_DISABLE_COMPOSITING_MODE=1 before launching GnuCash. WebKitGtk changed
the default hardware acceleration to always, and that doesn't work with the
pages that GnuCash generates.

Hi:
Nothing! I am using System76 Ubuntu derivative,
Could the program have gotten corrupted?
I had reports a month or so ago OK.
I did move using gnucash to a different flash drive as the old one was
taking probably 10 or more seconds to load the directories lately & I
feared that it was going to fail & after that the saved reports would not
load but showed up when clicking on saved reports.
Should I delete & reinstall the program? Or is it just me?

*Saturday**, March 20, 2022*
*Daniel 9:9*
*To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have
rebelled against him; *
*Whoever would foster love covers over an offense, but whoever repeats the
matter separates close friends.*
*Proverbs 17:9*
*Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to
you.*
*Jeremiah 29:12*
*Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions.*
*Psalms 119:18*
*Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.*
*Colossians 4:2*
*Joel 2:12-13*
*Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your
heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your
heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is
gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth
him of the evil. *
*Dear Heavenly Father, we find it so much easier to fill our lives with
“doing” instead of “being.” Forgive us for our misplaced values and
careless living, and show us how to keep our priorities straight. Amen.*

Re: [GNC] creating a Tranaction report

2022-03-29 Thread Adrien Monteleone
Try: Accounts > Filter Type > "Do not do any filtering" and un-select
every account in that part of the dialog. (the top section should have
the desired accounts selected, 'All' is fine of course)

Did you get a report?

Then try: General > Add Options Summary > "If no transactions matched"
and report back the result.

Adrien

Someone told me how to pick & choose different individual parts to show I
the report with a < shift control something but lost that also & did not
find it in the tutorial. Also another place for help which I think goes
deeper into detail & that is gone also… grumble!

Under reports Upon selecting Tranaction Report then options

Under Options General I entered start & end date + Stylesheet Easy

Under Options Sorting no change

Under Options Filter no change

Under Options Display delete num

Under Options Currency no change

Under Options Accounts Select all &Filter type Select all

I thought that should bring up something after selecting OK but Nothing
still blank
