BOOK REVIEW
THE NEW YORK TIMES

THE ENEMY AT HOME
The Cultural Left and Its Responsibility for 9/11.
By Dinesh D'Souza.
333 pp. Doubleday. $26.95.

January 21, 2007
None (but Me) Dare Call It Treason
By ALAN WOLFE

At first Dinesh D'Souza considered him a dark-eyed fanatic,
a gun-toting extremist, a monster who laughs at the deaths of
3,000 innocent civilians. But once he learned how Osama bin
Laden was viewed in the Muslim world, D'Souza changed his
mind. Now he finds bin Laden to be a quiet, well-mannered,
thoughtful, eloquent and deeply religious person.

Despite being considered a friend of the Palestinians, he
has not launched a single attack against Israel. We
denounce him as a terrorist, but he uses a different compass
to assess America than Americans use to assess him.

Bin Laden killed only 3,000 of us, with every victim
counted, every death mourned, every victim's family
generously compensated. But look what we did in return: many
thousands of Muslims dead in Afghanistan and Iraq, and few
Americans seem distressed over these numbers.

I never thought a book by D'Souza, the aging enfant terrible
of American conservatism, would, like the Stalinist
apologetics of the popular front period, contain such a soft
spot for radical evil. But in The Enemy at Home,
D'Souza's cultural relativism hardly stops with bin
Laden.

He finds Ayatollah Khomeini still to be highly regarded for
his modest demeanor, frugal lifestyle and soft-spoken
manner. Islamic punishment tends to be harsh
flogging adulterers and that sort of thing but this,
D'Souza says with only a hint of irony, simply
puts Muslims “in the Old Testament tradition.

Polygamy exists under Islamic law, but the sexual freedom
produced by feminism in this country is, at least for men,
even better than polygamy. And the Iranian president
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's statement that the West has a taboo
against questioning the existence of the Holocaust, while
pooh-poohed by Western commentators, was undoubtedly
accurate.

Unlike President Bush, who once said he could not understand
how anyone could hate America, D'Souza knows why Islamic
radicals attack us. Painful though it may be to admit, he
admits, some of what the critics or even enemies say about
America and the West ... may be true. Susan Sontag never
said we brought Sept. 11 on ourselves. Dinesh D'Souza does
say it.

Dreadful things happened to America on that day, but, truth
be told, D'Souza is not all that upset by them. America is
fighting two wars simultaneously, he argues, a war against
terror abroad and a culture war at home. We should be using
the former, less important, one to fight the latter, really
crucial, one.

The way to do so is to encourage a split between radical
Muslims like bin Laden, who engage in jihad, and
traditional Muslims who are conservative in their political
views and deeply devout in their religious practices;
understanding the radical Muslims, even being sympathetic to
some of their complaints, is the best way to win the support
of the traditionalists.

We should stand with conservative Muslims in protest against
the publication of the Danish cartoons that depicted the
Prophet Muhammad rather than rallying to the liberal ideal of
free speech. We should drop our alliance with decadent Europe
and should openly ally with governments that reflect
Muslim interests, not ... Israeli interests. And, most
important of all, conservative religious believers in America
should join forces with conservative religious believers in
the Islamic world to combat their common enemy: the cultural
left.

The domestic insurgents who, in D'Souza's view, constitute
the cultural left want America to be a shining beacon of
global depravity, a kind of Gomorrah on a Hill.

I intend to name the enemy at home, D'Souza proclaims, and
so he does. Twenty recent members of Congress, including
Hillary Rodham Clinton and Ted Kennedy, are on one of his
lists, and 17 intellectuals (one dead, one British) are on
another, with similar numbers of Hollywood figures,
activists, foreign policy experts, cultural leaders and
organizations.

Some of those he identifies -- Noam Chomsky, Ramsey Clark,
Ward Churchill -- might not be surprised to find themselves
here. Others -- the sociologist Paul Starr, the historian
Sean Wilentz, the clergyman Jim Wallis, the philosopher
Martha Nussbaum -- are less obvious candidates for inclusion.

  Dear Friend,

We wonder sometimes whether something once broken can ever be put together?
Someone wrote these lines: “Picasso’s shattered looking glass reflects a face
in shambles, a crazy quilt of eyes and ears that never were or will be. Yet he
who painted Pablo’s face could look at Humpty Dumpty and in the fractured
features see what was and what can still be. If you would know the face of
Christ, seek not divine perfection, but gaze with God on broken men who are and
always will be.” Have a transfigured Lenten weekend! Fr. Jude

Sunday Reflections: Second Sunday of Lent –Transfigured! 4-Mar.-2007
  Readings: Genesis 15: 5-12; 17-18;Philippians 3: 17- 4:1; Luke
9:28-36;

Today’s first reading from Genesis speaks of the first covenant God makes
with Abram, before his name was changed to Abraham as a sign of his
encountering Yahweh and being changed forever, before he was held in covenant
with God and drawn into a relationship of faithfulness by God. It is a reading
of hope and promise for the future, of bringing forth a people who belong to
God. The promise comes with land, a home and echoes of the kingdom of God here
on earth, and the promise is sealed in sacrifice. God takes Abram outside, for
God cannot be contained by walls, God takes Abram beyond his boundaries, his
past, his dwellings, past security, past whatever he thought he was or what he
believed his future held. God is still breaking into our dreams, drawing us
out, extending our horizons, and seeking to change our ideas of who we are and
who God might be. His covenant and promise stands as our hope because he is
always faithful.

  A name called in love
Maude and Harry have been married for fifteen years and their relationship is
limited to newspapers exchange at breakfast-table and weather reports noted at
dinner-table. Maude spends her days lingering over the housework because she
dreads the time when she has nothing to do. Harry works long hours and says he
is too tired to talk in the evenings – so they settle down to drowsy boredom in
front of the television. Maude never hears Harry call her by name; only as
‘you’. One day Maude’s friend, Mabel, arrives and tries some advice: “Maude,
take a look at yourself! You are always going around with a colony of curlers
in your head and tripping over your face. You’re a mobile mess, dear. What you
need is a new hairdo and a new outfit – then Harry will notice you! Tomorrow we
will go shopping.” Next day, Maude spends hours at the hairdresser and at
various shops. Mabel is enthusiastic about the results, but Maude feels the
whole exercise is wasted effort. After their long day
they return to wait for Harry. When Harry comes in, he stops; he looks at his
wife and when he sees her he realizes what he has done. He moves over to her,
takes her in his arms, and calls her name again and again. When that happens,
Maude becomes radiant and aglow. She is transfigured –not because she has a new
outfit but because for the first time in years she has heard her name called in
love.
Denis McBride in ‘’Seasons of the Word’

In today’s second reading Paul reminds the Philippians that they are first of
all citizens of the Kingdom of God and that they are to dwell in this world
eagerly waiting for the coming of Christ. We are not first of all citizens of
any country but of the kingdom of God and we are to live accordingly. We are
called to imitate Paul who set an example by taking up the cross. Paul warns
that those who set their sights on the things of this world will end in
disaster. If we are interested only in things of this world: our belly, our
food, our lifestyle, greed, possessions, power and money, we will end in
disaster. We are called to live for higher things.

Today’s Gospel speaks of the transfiguration of Jesus in the company of his
favourite apostles. The scene is rich in symbolism and points to a deeper
meaning. Jesus accompanied by his disciples ascended the mountain and while he
was in prayer he was transfigured in the company of Moses and Elijah. The
mountain was not named. It is a theological mountain, a place where God reveals
to Jesus as he did to Moses and Elijah earlier. Moses and Elijah represent the
Age of the Law and the Age of the Prophets. In their presence he was affirmed
in his mission by his Father. “This is my Son the chosen one!” The purpose of
going to the mountain was to pray. It was in prayer that he was

Anna Maria,

You could have visited Ghettos in those States too and impressed the black
folks who live there with your Culer and Canto and your Aao Portuguese
Ponkad, Podhi and Patrade. I am an Indian and American citizen of Goan
Origin with dual nationality. British table manners were imposed on me and
my siblings at home since our youth. Since I am a leading professor of
engineering entrepreneurship and corporate consultant in this part of
Florida and since my wife is the Vice-President of Finance at a major health
care company in town which owns three hospitals, we are invited to fine
dinner parties nearly every other day. There is no single international
method of eating with a spoon and fork - unless it is a figment of your
imagination - The British use their cutlery differently than the Americans !
The Chinese, Japanese and Koreans prefer chop sticks. The Indians prefer to
use their hands - it helps them sense the temperature of the food without
burning their mouths. I have been to Langars (Sikh Gurudwara dinners) in
California, NY, Washington DC, Vancouver BC, Dallas, Orlando and other
places and they all eat with their hands. Do Not Try to discriminate against
people who do not use Culer/Canto the way that you do. What are your

Goan pols seem to have been seduced by visions of
Singapore if we are to go by their utterances about
transforming Goa into Singapore. The vertically
focused Dayanand-bab wants to turn the whole of
Goa into Singapore. Joaquim-bab is more modest.
He only wants to turn Cuncolim into Singapore.

These remarkable dreams deserve the support of the
Goan people provided they are implemented in toto.
I mean, why stop with the Singaporean skyline, Changi
airport, the roads and the malls? Let us also import
the Singaporean justice system, in particular its stiff
anti-corruption prescriptions and consequences.

I propose we have a little chat with Narvekar-bab and
Alemao-bab, with their respective proctologists in tow,
and lay before them an estimate of the length diameter
of bamboo their sphincter may have to share space with
under Goa's Singapore-inspired regime of justice.

Warm regards,

Saligao has shown the way. Congratulations. We must reestablish the
reading culture. Frank simoes was a great personality and we enjoyed his
writings. I shudder to compare the saligao library mssion with the mess
in Santa Cruz, the village where I grew up and where we have our
permanent residence at Bondir. Thanks to Rajyasabha MP Mr. Eduardo
Faleiro's generosity, Under MPLADS a village library building was built
near the Bondir football ground two years ago. Despite such modern
premises the library was never established by the St. Cruz village
panchayat. The building remains locked and may be used for different
purpose. Despite her sincerity, The local MLA could not find time to
pursue the library proposal. The directorate of education grants Rs. 1,
26,000 to every village panchayat to establish a library and then the
maintenenace grants are released every year for purchasing books,
periodicals, power, water, wages, small programmes, rent of the premises.
We have 380 villages but only 88 villages have libraries. Every year the
government collects Rs. 20 million as 'public library cess'. Most of it
lies unspent. Saligao institute must present a detail proposal to get the
grants it deserves.

I am sorry to see the lack of initiative in St. Cruz, a village known for
stalwarts like Poet Paulino dias, Journalist Frank Moraes, Poet Dom
Moraes, Tereza Albuquerque, Printer J.D. fernandes, Music maestro Cotta,
Barao de cumbarjua-Purushottambab Quencro, the Dempo and Pinto families
and many tiatrists, artists and sportspersons. There are many more names.
Perhaps the Saligao childrens' library project would rekindle interest in
our villagers. Unfortunately having shifted my residence to Goa University
campus and presently pinned down by babysitting duties, I am out of
action. But this news item has compelled me to wake up our village
sarpanch and the MLA. I am going to contact them soon. Thanks to public
animators like Fred, Mario and Muriel-Saligao is lucky to have such
community oriented projects. I wish all the sucess for this venture and
would do my bit to help the project by donating books and getting readers
etc.

END OF NOTE

FOOTNOTE: I would not claim to have done anything in the above case,
other than build awareness and occasionally raise the need for
libraries. In my view, it is a big achievement that Giselle and team
achieved everything without any official support. FN

Hi Bosco,

Thank you again for your most enlightening post, as expected. But please
don’t raise your hopes — that people will take your sagacious advice
seriously, based on your educational experiences in North America.

Get this: If Goans were Eskimos, they would be living in igloos. ;)
[Nothing against Eskimos, but don’t expect people in Goa to live a lifestyle
of the West.]

Interestingly, you make some perplexing points, based on borrowed advice
(hearsay). If Goa’s education system is as robust as you (and your western
proponents) say, why don’t you consider sending your children to Goa for a
primary or higher education? This will help test your professed theory:
that alls well with the education system in Goa.

Nevertheless I'll indulge you with a response.

RESPONSE: Santosh has provided some social (societal) reasons. Sunith Velho
has espoused some dramatic reasons.
# 2) There is plenty wrong with primary education systems the world over. #
3) Dropout rates in rural areas will always be greater than urban areas

the world over. Don't micro-manage Goa, only. Look up statistics for North
America; they will mirror the information provided by Santosh (not to that
extent).

---

Now, you are saying that since North America is experiencing high dropout
rates, makes it okay for Goa to have phenomenal school dropouts? Great
advice from the west! Any takers in Goa? BTW— in the US there are cases
where students carry guns and shoot fellow students; so using your above
analogy, what advice would you dispense to students in Goa?

Goa’s Education Minister recently made a remarkable move to make amends to
the education system, and Goa’s Archbishop has encouraged the steps in that
direction. But your position is that nothing is wrong with Goa’s education
system. Will the North American and UK settled Goans not allow those in Goa
the privilege to decide what is best in their interest?

BTW— Bosco, don’t you think that I have the right to project my views based
on my first hand experience in Goa, considering that:

1. I studied in Goa, and by virtue of that fact I’m speaking from my
experience in Goa and its education system.

2. I have worked in Goa (temporarily), and I know the employment situation
in Goa, which BTW has not drastically improved since past decades.

3. I have interacted with students in Goa, and to a certain extent
helped/help them in enhancing skills, time and opportunity permitting.

4. I have interacted with teachers and parents in Goa, who confirm their
students/wards are facing problems in schools more now than ever, with the
introduction of primary education that is totally in vernacular language.

The fact that private English-medium schools are growing at a phenomenal
rate, undoubtedly proves that a BIG majority of parents want their kids to
take up primary level studies in English teaching schools, even though it is
highly expensive.

5. I am a taxpayer in India, with full voting rights and interest in Goa.

Let those who wear the shoe say whether it fits or not. It is always
convenient for those who do NOT have a stake in Goa’s education system to
“sanctimoniously” pontificate what is good or not, for Goa.

Best wishes,

Joe Vaz

Albert,

You have attacked me, you have attached Selma, Glenda and I do not know
how many people.
I was not aware that you and Gllenda had bought the sole rights to criticise
people and institutions on this forum. You have previously attacked the
church, priests, schools and other Goanetters. You even went to the extent
of sending me over 3 personal mails(which is never a good strategy. Ask
K3!).

I am amused to listen to your illogical arguments. If God had to make
everyone scientist what would you eat plannets?
Talking about logic, were we.

If our goan schools were good from the primary why the hell you left Goa
and went abroad ?
Are we still discussing logic? You know very well that I was educated in Goa
and I pointed out to you privately that my qualifications(all from Goa) were
well recognised both by my previous company Hutch and by King's College.

Rest assured that I will attack any further nonsense that you write, student
life affords me too much idle time.

This is one case where I fully endorse the action taken by the Ministry of
Defense -- there is quite a scam in that the Bishop of Bombay (old Anglican
Church -- now Church of North India) is trying to sell off the property
attached to the Afghan Church -- He definitely has no right to do so --
Church authorities (Catholic included) thiink they are a law unto
themselves -- sell off church property, originally given to the church by
government or by good Christians without taking into account the feelings or
rights and needs of the congregation. Our church authorities are always
telling the congregation to build mansions in heaven, but most of them, as
soon as they get the authority to manage landed property, either try to
build mansions on earth and quite often only for the benefit of themselves
or their direct families without any benefit to the congregation at
large.[Aloysius D'Souza]

This may be the bitter truth and I for one would be the last to refute it
though I have no personal knowledge of the goings on in church financial
matters including regarding real estate. But my purpose in the post was to
provide background for the uncanny parallel to the Defence stranglehold over
Dabolim and to see if someone could shed light on the Navy's claim that the
airport was part of a Portuguese garrison. Maybe a Goan who is at least in
his 80s would have some idea about the situation then. And by the way, note
that the TOI report itself began with In an unusual step... The issue is
not about the right and wrong of the Church authorities. Its about the
involvement of Defence in seemingly extraneous matters, some accidental and
others suspiciously deliberate.

Eugene, you can only repossess (also read reclaim, recover, recuperate)
something which you owned (also read exercised sovereignty) before.

I think everyone will agree that the Republic of India never exercised
sovereignty over Goa before so how could the Republic of India (Indian
Union) repossess Goa?

In legal terms, it did not. What happened in 1961 was a conquest of the
ex-Portuguese territories as it is recorded in several determinations by the
Supreme Court of the Republic of India.

It is about time we all accept that we have indeed been conquered, yet
again, and find our peace within that finding.

Best regards.
Paulo.

To answer Jose's question, I have gone through Leo
Lawrence's book, which mostly harps on the Goa case at
 the UN.

Like many pro-Portuguese Goans, Leo advocated a Free
Goa in a Free India. I had another friend who gave me
many phamplets he published espousing the case of Goa
as an independent nation. He quoted facts and figures,
such as Luxemborg, or probably some other nation,
being smaller that Goa in area.

Like the present-day Khalistanis wanting an
independent Punjab. I won't mention Kashmir, because
the history of this state is complicated and has its
own unique history in India's political framework.I
am not sure of Cardinal Gracias's statement but he
was consulted by the Goan liberation leaders and fully
 backed India's repossession of Goa.

Thanks Joe for all the video clips.
You are doing a good job.

Although I have seen only 35secs of this clip,
it is different from the others, cause it has the
lyrics (words) of the song displayed on the screen.
However one cannot term it as 'Karaoke'.

Karaoke is a Japenese word for sing-along,
literally meaning 'empty orchestra'.
It is a pre-recorded music, in which the
the voice of the singer is removed.
When you play a Karaoke VCD/DVD, your voice is
substituted as the sound track is played; musicians and
back-up singers accompany you. You dont have to memorize the words,
as the lyrics of the song are displayed and highlighted on TV screen as
you sing along. I understand its quite expensive to convert
normal songs to Karaoke.

I have heard of konkani Karaoke VCD but could not get the
copy in Margao. I understand it is available only at select places.
Did you buy this VCD, and is it Karaoke or just sing along with
the voice and lyrics?

Judaline,
Some factual errors in your post, in my Canadian experience which
happens to be longer than yours:

With fine dining in restaurants and at dinner with the Canadian upper
classes you will see the knife and fork widely used. In fact at these
occasions you will always find 3 forks 3 knives and 3 spoons placed on
the table in the left and right order in which they are to be used
i.e. fork and knife for salad or starters, fork and knife (with spoon
optional) for the main entree, fork for the dessert and spoons for the
soup and coffee.

Most Canadians follow English not American traditions. The American
way of life you see is restricted to cities like Toronto due to the
heavy presence of American corporations who use American styles in all
their corporate functions and activities and the populous unwashed
immigrants who have been dished out the American McDonald culture in
their own home countries Once out of metropolis and suburbia you will
see which is more prevalent.

The word used in Canada for cutlery is not utensils (please don't ever
use that if you don't want a strange look) but rather flatware.

Cheers,
Roland.

On 2/26/07, United Air Express Customer Service [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:
I have been in Canada for 8 years after living in the Gulf for 20 years. In
all my time here I have never seen any Canadians use the English way of
eating i.e. knife in the right hand and fork in teh left hand. I admit
though that the new English immigrants still follow the traditions of their
ancestors. In Canada, people follow the American way of eating, i.e. fork
in the right hand and switching it to the left when using the knife. How
Goans, in Canada, use these utensils (Canadian word for cutlery) is of
 course up to their discretion.

From what I can conclude, after living here for many years, is that
Canadians and Americans do not accept most of the British traditions.

Before attempting to set up Gram Nyalayas (village
Courts) and Night Courts the Goa Government should
try and streamline to optimize the productivity of
the current system of Courts.

People very often suffer at the hands of the state
because its functionaries fail to apply their minds to
the problems faced by the public.

To restrict an individual’s access to courts is
virtually compromising his rights. The Supreme Court
should seriously look at the vexed problem of case
backlog. Judgments should be foolproof so that they
are not easily open to challenge. This may relieve the
pressure on our case clogged courts.

Hi Nandu, Governments' job is to spend, waste money, and create
infrastructure the people don't require. We need to build alternatives
which show how a lot can be attained with little, social capital can
be built, and the volunteer-power available locally is harnessed.
People like Giselle Lobo (not me!) have carried the project forward
... for two or more years, if I'm not mistaken.

Once anyone takes even a paisa of government funds, they are strapped
with conditionalities, politics and what not. We can also give
politicians the message that they're not rulers of our destinies ...
and hence I think it's important to stand on one's own feet. Goa's
villages (and urban areas) have enough resources to do things for
themselves. If given the chance, I would go out of my way to
discourage anyone from depending on government money ... even if this
is their right. FN

We have 380 villages but only 88 villages have libraries. Every year the
government collects Rs. 20 million as 'public library cess'. Most of it
lies unspent. Saligao institute must present a detail proposal to get the

A person was taking a morning walk along the beach, along with the tide came
hundreds of starfish and when the tide receded, they were left behind on the
shore, with the morning rays of the sun they would die. The man picked one
threw it back in the water, he did it reppeatedly. A passer by stopped and
asked him, What are you doing? There are hundreds of starfish. How many can
you help? What difference does it make? The man did not reply, took another
step forward, picked up another starfish and threw it into the water and
said, to this one it makes a difference
The moral of the story, What difference are we Goans making? Big or small? I
think its not important for if everyone did make a small difference, we
would end up with a big difference.

Know the basics. The church along with its structure, money and property is
registered like other reliigious inst. under Maharastra Society Act of 1860
if it is in Maharastra and Goa and other society act in other places. To
register this under this society you need members, MOU and from the members
a committee is taken. I do not still know who are the members of this
society and the list can be obtained under right to information act. The
members are kept as secret and they have their regular meetings and enjoy
the usufruit without disclosing their accounts to any one. Surprisingly many
priests even are unware of this. The lay is asked to donate but what you give
goes to the society and enjoyed by its members. Unless and until the list of
the society and the minutes of the general body and the Managing committee
is made public it is difficult to say anything. The bishop has every right to
sell the land as he is the president of the committee and he must have
discussed this in the general body meeting and also managing committee
meetand passed. Don't you see buildings being built in the church properties
and leased for ninety nine years?

From Acaria Almeida and Goa Sudharop

In connection with our exciting Easter event and Year of the Environment
theme, students are
invited to participate in selecting a village in Goa, research environmental
issues that exist,
and provide solutions.

This challenge is open to students of all age groups from Kindergarten to High
School. Work
individually or as a team to submit a “Solution Idea” of protecting the
environment in Goa.
Your
challenge and solution should be presented in the form of a short essay (750
words), PowerPoint
(optional), etc. and should be submitted by April 1st. Each participant will
receive a certificate
from Goa Sudharop.

We would like to share your research findings at our April 8th event in the San
Francisco Bay
Area. You may bring in your exhibit/poster demonstrating your project on the
day of the event or
mail/email your poster to us if you cannot attend. Students will have an
opportunity to share
their findings by identifying the village in Goa they have selected and report
the issues and
solutions.

Parents! Please encourage your child to participate in this challenge. Your
support and time will
contribute an added connection with your child and Goa as well as providing an
educational
experience. This experience is intended to expose our children to do a little
bit of research and
acquaint themselves with their Goan heritage. This serves as a great project
for extended
families, friends in a common area, same grades can be combined, or even a
mixture of grades would
work. With Internet and emails, information is at your fingertips, and 1-2
meetings with your
group will connect you to a new friendship working for the same goal. The goal
of the project is
to work as a community using our talents to challenge problems and present
solutions.

Can this be applied for school credit – as volunteer work? Yes, if your school
will accept, we
can have something written out and they can present it to the coordinator to
see if they are
eligible.
The following have volunteered to be your resource and will assist you to
connect with students in
your area. Please call or email me for their contact information.

won the 11th Edition of Curtorcares United 7 a side football tournament held
on 25th Feb 07 on the famous Soor grounds in Kuwait City. In the run up to
the finals AVC - Kuwait defeated Veterans Club 1-0, brushed aside K.G.A in
the tie-breaker with AVC's goalkeeper Alvaro Dias in outstanding form,
whipped G.O.A. Maroons 3-0 in the semifinals and outclassed Bombay Boys 4-1
in the finals.

The finals were played at a frantic pace with both the teams going in for
the kill from the beginning. AVC forged ahead when medio Luciano D'Souza
sent a crisp placement to put AVC ahead in the first half. Bombay Boys
equalized immediately when a defensive error allowed Melvyn of Bombay Boys
to put it across AVC's Alvaro. The second half started on a promising note
with AVC on the attack with their customary two touch football and once
again Luciano collecting a pass on top of the box unleashed a thunder shot
which pierced the nylons and kept the Bombay Boys goalkeeper rooted to his
ground. After that it was AVC all the way with star striker Kevin scoring
the third and Molvito completing the rout. The tiring Bombay Boys players
did try to force the pace, but the defense led by Vincy along with Captain
Francis Jr. were rock solid with Alvaro manning the goal superbly. The game
was played by both the teams in a very friendly manner showing the true
spirit of football. Luciano D'Souza was adjudged the man of the finals for
his superb play and was awarded a trophy for scoring the first goal of the
finals. The tournament was held under the auspices of KIFF and supervised by
IFRA and well organized by Curtorcares United.
