Magnum Mysterium" as well as other classics such as Handel's "For Unto Us a
Child is Born", Konkani favourite "Ghanttir Ghantti", Arvo Part's fiery
"Bogoroditse Devo", Stopford's soothing selling of the "Coventry Carol", a

[Goanet] Through Canadian Eyes

2021-12-21 Thread Roland Francis
Canadian media rarely cover any India let alone Goa news unless it is major, or
of international impact, even though the country has a sizeable Indian
population.

So this snippet in the national media (CBC), naturally raises an eyebrow. Is
Goa becoming adversely newsworthy?

CBC News : Omicron variant threatens to jeopardize another season in India's
tourist-dependent Goa.

[Goanet] RIVER MANDOVI IS CERTAINLY POLLUTED

2021-12-21 Thread Stephen Dias
Environmentalists must wake up and counter act whether there is any impact
of sewage discharge in river Mandovi.
I don't agree with the statement come up in Raya Sabba. According to me the
STP plant in St Inez Tonca is overloaded with the sewage tankers coming
from various sources like 5 star hotels and offshore casinos. This polution
can be verified by renowned agencies and local Institute of Oceanography.
Whether any official studies were done by local government?
I have inspected the STP plant and found the sewage tankers are discharging
sewage in the STP plant and found overloaded beyond the capacity of the
plant and excess is discharged into the creek on turn to river Mandovi.
Also when I wanted to inspect the supply of sewage from Casinos being
loaded via supply boats into the standing on platform jetty I was not
allowed to verify and was stopped by security at the Captain of Ports
jetty. That means there was no transparency on loading operation.
It is very clear that the St. INEZ CREEK water is polluted beyond quantity
of sewage coming from various sources such as high rise buildings, migrants
housing nearby on borders and STP plant overloading plant. The sample for
analysis can very well give the proofs of sewage contamination on River
Mandovi.
That means the reporting to Raya Sabba by vested interest needs to be
further verified by appointing government agencies to substantiate its
claim and analysis of water sample near offshore casinos will give the
percentage of pollution contamination on Mandovi.

[Goanet] MAY REGINALDO LOURENCO’S STAINED POLITICAL SOUL REST IN ETERNAL PEACE

2021-12-21 Thread Aires Rodrigues
The treacherous exit from the Congress Party by the always ego puffed
Curtorim MLA Reginaldo Lourenco was expected and comes as no surprise. His
recent midnight meeting with BJP leaders says it all.

In Reginaldo Lourenco’s expected, disgruntled exit, the Congress should be
relieved that some of its remaining political thrash has been finally
emptied and is down the sewage line. And whatever other dirt remains within
the Congress, the faster it is off-loaded the better it is for Goa and the
Party.

It was in fact surprising that the Congress Party recently went all out to
pacify the Curtorim MLA with premium bread, butter and cheese without
sensing that their over ambitious MLA had planned and was looking to move
elsewhere.

Reginaldo Lourenco falsely projected himself as a smart MLA, something that
he proved otherwise by foolishly moving a resolution in the Goa Legislative
Assembly some years ago that women should be barred from wearing scarves
around their faces. An embarrassed Reginaldo had to beat a hasty retreat
and withdraw his words which only exposed how immature and dumb the
Curtorim MLA was.

Over the last few years Reginaldo was very opposed to Luizinho Faleiro who
he always blamed for his political alienation and stagnation. Won’t it be
now interesting to see the former Curtorim MLA being part of his new
political abode headed by the very same Luizinho Faleiro?

Children are keen learners, and they thrive when they feel a sense of
accomplishment and success through cognitive skills. One of the most
effective ways to improve children’s success is by engaging in sports.
sports helps kids stay focused. With a lot of energy to burn and fun
elements involved, many children love playing sports because it gives them
a feeling of belongingness and competitiveness.

Speaking on the new course launched, Arpit Mittal, Cofounder and CTO, said, “We
want kids to have fun on the Yellow Class platform. With this
collaboration, we want to go a step forward, creating a platform where kids
can learn something while having fun rather than spending hours
binge-watching useless content! The platform enhances and develops the
creative passion and helps kids discover themselves. Sports play an
important role in helping kids with cognitive skills. More than anything,
we want kids to discover their liking and interests through exploration. We
are glad to announce that we have Srikanth Kidambi as a part of the
platform.”

Srikanth Kidambi shared his excitement on the collaboration saying “It is a
pleasure to teach kids through Yellow Class. Seeing the huge potential of
Indians, I wish to add more value by mentoring kids at an early age. I
understand the importance of a role model and a good Coach and I am glad to
be collaborating with Yellow Class to be the same to the young kids out
there. Looking forward to fun-filled badminton lessons on Yellow Class. See
you all soon"

Additionally, Yellow class is also collaborating with celebrities and
creating free programs like Singing with Shaan, Cooking with Masterchef
Ripu, Yoga with Vidya Malvade and Ramayana with Shri Arun Govil Ji. The
reasons for bringing these celebrities to mentor kids are many - i. These
are role models for a lot of kids, ii. They have years of experience in
their domain and are masters of their skills and, iii. These celebrities
look for opportunities to mentor kids as they understand the importance of
a mentor at an early age. The platform has been able to retain the kids
since they have fun on the platform and aren’t forced to learn anything. It
has showcased disruptive growth and focuses on deeper consumer engagement
by gamifying the experience for kids. Additionally, the brand has a user
base in over 52 countries with more than 2 million parents being a part of
the community.

The startup aims to captivate children in various disciplines and offers
