[google-appengine] Reached 10 applications limit, deleted a few, must still wait 4 days - what can i do?
Hey all. I need to get one of my applications up and running as soon as possible, but noticed today that I have reached the 10 applications limit on my account. I have removed a few applications, but they are not removed immediately, meaning I still have to wait 4 days until I can finally deploy the new application. Is there a way I can solve this quicker? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google App Engine" group. [google-appengine] How to do full table scans for analysis on App Engine?
hello everyone, i want to provide detailed reports in my app. those reports require data aggregated across full tables. in the client i want to plot the change of values over time. this then requires to select very huge data sets. however, in the app engine there is the restriction to get 1000 items in one request. so what is the best approach to do queries with big result sets? i can imagine that the client could split the big request into 10 smaller ones to collect, merge and display the data. but i think this is complex, error prone and slow. i would rather like to do this on the server side. but do i have to split the requests to work around the 1000 items limit or is there another pattern that developers should use to handle huge datasets. basically i want to know two things: 1) how can i retrieve huge amounts of data regarding the get 1000 items limit? 2) is the app engine performance good enough to allow showing reports on the client side i.e. can app engine retrieve and analyse (avg, min, max, grouping) huge amounts of data (10k - 1million rows) fast enough? kind regards, ingo -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google App Engine" group. [google-appengine] App Engine Dashboard will not load
I joined App Engine quite a while ago, and recently had some renewed interest. However, I am currently unable to login to my App Engine Dashboard. When I visit https://appengine.google.com/ and login to my account, I am taken to a page that says "Server Error (500)". The page does not include any additional details other than "A server error has occurred." and contains a link back to the same page. Any ideas on how I can fix my dashboard? [google-appengine] How logging [doesnt?] work?
In the doc: Java Servlet Environment > Logging, this statement appears: Everything the servlet writes to the standard output stream (System.out) and standard error stream (System.err) is captured by App Engine and recorded in the application logs. Lines written to the standard output stream are logged at the "INFO" level, and lines written to the standard error stream are logged at the "WARNING" level. This isn't happening for me: none of my app's (development) System.out messages appear, even when I set the Console Main > Logs severity to Debug. [google-appengine] URLConnection Cookie Issue
Hi all, I am developing a simple application to work on the net, it post data to server, gets the cookie, and gets another pages using this cookie. It's used for making a mobilization of a web site which cannot be run on mobile phones easily. Anyways, when I use Apache Tomcat, I got no errors, works perfectly. However, when I use AppEngine locally on my computer, I get cookie error: String content = "ID=" + username + "&PWD=" + password + "&rndval=" + System.currentTimeMillis(); o.write(content.getBytes()); String server_cookie = urlConn.getHeaderField("Set- Cookie"); for ( int i = 0; i < 1000; i++){ System.out.println( i + ") " + urlConn.getHeaderField(i)); } System.out.println("server cookie: " + server_cookie); cookie = server_cookie; cookie is returned null, for both "set-cookie" & "Set-Cookie", so my program won't work after all. [google-appengine] Unable to update app: Error posting to URL: https://appengine.google.com/api/appversion/create?app_id=ZocialPay&version=1&400 Bad Request
Hi, I just tried to upload my first app to google app engine, however I'm getting this exception. I read similar thread on this and the solution seems to be to enable your gmail account for the Java Runtime, but does not give you a URL to do this. [google-appengine] An exception thrown while using JavaMail with Google AppEngine
Hi All, I am trying to write a Java program using JavaMail to send an email between 2 users. I have NOT added mail.jar and activation.jar files to my appengine project as I read somewhere that this would cause exceptions to be thrown since the functionality is already available with the appengine .jar files. But my program is throwing the following exception:- Exception in thread "main" com.google.apphosting.api.ApiProxy$CallNotFoundException: The API package 'mail' or call 'Send()' was not found. at com.google.apphosting.api.ApiProxy.makeSyncCall(ApiProxy.java:95) at com.google.apphosting.api.ApiProxy.makeSyncCall(ApiProxy.java:48) at com.google.appengine.api.mail.MailServiceImpl.doSend(MailServiceImpl.java:95) at com.google.appengine.api.mail.MailServiceImpl.send(MailServiceImpl.java:32) at com.google.appengine.api.mail.stdimpl.GMTransport.sendMessage(GMTransport.java:247) at javax.mail.Transport.send(Transport.java:95) at javax.mail.Transport.send(Transport.java:48) at weatherForecast.SendEmail.main(SendEmail.java:40) I read in the following post: http://forums.smartclient.com/showthread.php?t=8589 that I need to remove appengine .jar files from my project to make things work. But my web application also involves rendering a .jsp file populated with some data which is the welcoming page of my Google App when deployed on google appengine and the project fails to work once I remove the .jars. It does help me in getting rid of the exception though. Can anyone please suggest a way to write an email program and make it work on a google appengine project? Thanks! [google-appengine] Previously attached subdomain still bound to the deleted appengine application
Hi, I'd a java application on appengine that was pointing to my subdomain foo.bar.com (example domain). I found out about google apps based authentication if it is used as appengine.google.com/a/bar.com (example domain) and hence deleted the previous application. Re: [google-appengine] How to do full table scans for analysis on App Engine?
Hi Ingo, The 1000 entity limit was removed some time ago. The datastore has no built-in aggregation functions. You may want to look into using the TaskQueue to break up server-side full-scan type aggregations into numerous smaller tasks. Brett Slakin's 2010 IO talk about high performance data pipelines may be useful to you. Have you considered doing the aggregations up-front instead of on-the-fly? Or, running a periodic aggregate routine?
