[google-appengine] Instance issues
From yesterday I observe that app engine spins new instance which serves requests for couple of seconds and then kill it immediately again. [google-appengine] Re: New client library for Google Cloud Storage available for testing
Hi Tom, What's the plan with the existing com.google.appengine.api.files classes? I'm about to start work on some code to access Google Cloud Storage. Should I be using the existing Files API or the GCS client library? Is one method preferred over the other? I haven't been able to get the Files API to work when running locally. I see your library has a LocalRawGcsServiceFactory for this purpose. This alone seems like a good reason to be using your library. Thanks, Shane. I have tested this by basically sleeping for 20 seconds on one request (the application implemented a Jersey REST service) and with nothing else being executed all new requests cause the App engine to launch a new instance, in fact multiple new instances? Is there something else I need to do to allow a single instance handle multiple requests? It's simple and written in Python with the webapp framework. I've noticed a problem where the first request to the application always returns an empty body with an HTTP status code of 200. I'm seeing this problem in both the dev server on my machine and when the app is uploaded to GAE. The app has just one get method and one post method. These are used to add and view things in the datastore at the URI that the client is accessing. If the data is not in the data store when a client tries to GET it, the app should return a 404 and no body. If the data is there it should return the data in the body of the response with an HTTP status of 200. A POST works similarly; HTTP 200 with some data in the body if we can update the datastore and a 500 error if there was a problem. This works after the first request to the dev server or an instance, but the first request is always returned with an empty body and a status code of 200. This happens with a GET or a POST to a known good URI or even to a completely random URI that should be a 404. I have tried to debug this by using logging to see where the app is getting hung up, but strangely enough it doesn't even seem to be executing my code on the first request. Is there anything I should be looking out for here? How can I troubleshoot this? Thanks, Dave -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups Google App Engine group. [google-appengine] Web application and Google App Engine accounts

[google-appengine] DEPLOYING OVER EU DATACENTERS WITHOUT PREMIUM ACCOUNT
Hi, I filled the form to get the EU allocation feature for our GAE applications almost 2 weeks ago- waiting for the response. It's a really good movement from Google not requiring the Premium account to deploy in EU as the legal framework here is a big issue. I'd appreciate if anyone could comment anything about the experience on getting the Google approval: timing and chances to be accepted. Also if there is some way to track the request as I haven´t received anything, not even an ACK. [google-appengine] Serious Serving Problemns
Yesterday to a lesser extent, and today to a very serious degree, we have been seeing very extreme serving problems. This is for an application that has been running very stably and well for a long time. Many user-facing 500 errors that never hit our code. Many deadline exceeded errors. Instances are being killed very aggressively. I'm seeing zero resident instances, although I have set a minimum in apps settings. Instances are taking inordinately long to spool up. All this is combining to bring our app to its knees. This is a Master/Slave paid application. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups Google App Engine group. Yeah sorry - I'm using pure java (servlets/jsps) on HR datastore, the user facing app is on http://www.librarist.com/ (which is spring mvc deployed on appfog talking with app engine backend).
