RE: [H] FTP hacked...
Someone sent me RM offline that did the trick. Whomever hacked us had put a copy of Black White 2 (a game) on the system that consumed 3.3GB of disk space. Hey, I just found that one of our servers had is FTP hacked. Someone created a bunch of folders and files in a particular folder. Problem is that I cannot delete the files and folders because of the illegal file and folder names. Short of going to DOS and deleting the short name versions of the files and folders, do any of you know of a utility or something that will help with the deletion of these files? I did see that the RM.EXE utility from the 2000 resource CD may help. Since we do not have that kit, could someone email me that file? Thanks, Bobby

RE: [H] Blocking AOL IM....
The way I have done it in the past is to transparent proxy http and https, and then block all traffic from the workstation in question. [H] I think my monitor died :(
Came home from work today and woke up my monitor to see that the colors were completely jacked up. Played around in the settings a bit and I think I lose one of the guns. After playing around with several settings I realized that I was completely missing the color green. I went to the color bars located here: http://desktoppub.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJsdn=desktoppubzu=http%3A%2F%2Fpages.prodigy.net%2Fecmorris%2Ftips%2Fmonitor.htm The cyan color bar is blue, the magenta bar light orange, and the yellow bar bright orange. The monitor is a lovely Cornerstone p1450 19 CRT that I purchased at least 2 years ago, I haven't found the receipt yet. Am I screwed or could this be an easy fix? -- Brian

LOL. Actually, I'm still kind of prefernetial to CRTs. For some reason I find the smearing from LCDs during gaming very annoying. I use them at work and they are fine for web and office stuff. But then again, I haven't looked at them really closly for about a year or so. Re: [H] I think my monitor died :(
I held on to glass for a long time. In December of 2004 I switched to LCD--never looked back. I have the 24 + 20 WS Dell LCD's here at home, and two 20 LCDs at work. I now cringe when I have to look at glass--even high end FD Trinitron tubes. I do not, however, play -any- games, so that wasn't ever a concern for me. I have a 19 Mitsubishi Diamondtron that you can have. I'd ship it but it's way too heavy. Unfortunately, I moved from NYC to the horribly run-down Buffalo area. If for some reason you're coming through here any time soon you're welcome to it. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Brian Weeden Sent: Tuesday, March 14, 2006 7:47 PM To: The Hardware List Subject: Re: [H] I think my monitor died :( LOL. Re: [H] I think my monitor died :(
Well I am originally from Syracuse so I know what you are talking about but I live in Colorado now so thanks but I won't be by anytime soon. I actually de-gaussed it and turned it off for several hours and it looks like it is back, at least temporarily. But I think it may be time to look into something new. Thanks for the offer :) On 3/14/06, Christopher Klein [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I have a 19 Mitsubishi Diamondtron that you can have. I'd ship it but it's way too heavy.
