There is also the 3870X2 from Asus which has quad DVI
ports though I know not if it
suffers from the fan issues of other 3870x2's and then
there is the price.

I'm still waiting to see what the fallout is with SP3

There's already versions of windows XP that work this

I disagree, I think "stealing" XP is an act of protest
against a MS dominated market
where you use it or loose out and thus are being price
gouged & made to pay to beta
test MS mistakes. In fact I say the same about Apples
OS in that case a "frak you" to
apple for forcing you into their limited and still
overprice hardware. Frankly if
you're not asking MS for support what entitles them to
cash this late in the game anyway?

No I don't feel Parallels, WINE, Linux, or Unix BS are
completely the same as having
real windows.

Personally I'll stick with XP since I know the version
I have will not frak me when I
radically change my hardware, screw the EULA if I'm
destroying one box to rebuild it
as a new system since it's still only one system.

Have not read up on it but I don't want something that
can lock me out of my system &
data if MS suddenly decides I'm a pirate, not the case
then NDB to me. Of course if
it somehow limits or dictates how I view content,
limits my connectivity to content,
or ladens my system down with invasive process that
too would be an issue for me.

Didn't work here.
Posted on another list, appolgies to members of both.
xp-sp3-install fails.

Tried it on an older computer.

Legit, fully patched otherwise.
Runs fine. (Don't use it much.)

While the setup program is backing up my old files,
it goes to the c:\windows\system32 directory and can't find a file.
I open WinExplorer and there it sits... daxctle.ocx

Why do you suppose it can't find it?

I did all that before I heard they screwed it up...

And the same issue exists in Vista SP1. From what I've read real quick, it
looks like the delay isn't to fix SP3, but rather to put filtering in place
on MU/WU to prevent automatic deployment to those users running GP RMS. The
SP itself will not be modified, it seems.

I very much doubt that the issue is anything more than what MS has indicated
it is.

I deployed SP3 to 9 machines at work...they're fairly low end
demo/presentation systems...no issues, but they don't do much beyond running
IE, and it was a new, clean install.
