Go into the BIOS and change something minor then save it and then try. -Original Message- From: hardware-boun...@hardwaregroup.com [mailto:hardware-boun...@hardwaregroup.com] On Behalf Of Joe User Sent: Thursday, April 30, 2009 08:25 To: The Hardware List Subject: [H] System no boot Hello, System booted up fine, then I pressed reset to stop it from booting. My intention was to get it into safe mode, thats why I reset it. Tried to get it to boot again and mashing F8 and now it just hangs after the BIOS/POST. The screen is on so it's getting a signal from video, but nothing else happens. I try getting it to boot from the XP CD, it presents the Press any key to boot from CD... but when I press the 'any' key it does the same thing: nothing - just hangs. Hello, try go to BIOS SETUP (mostly key DEL or F2 or F10), save on exit and try again to boot. Hello Lubomír, Thursday, April 30, 2009, 8:27:15 AM, you wrote: Hello, try go to BIOS SETUP (mostly key DEL or F2 or F10), save on exit and try again to boot. Thanks, I have done that a few times. In fact, I loaded the bios setup defaults and no go. Took the drive and placed into another system seems fine but I am doing a chkdsk now. If this doesn;t find anything I will swap the sata cable. They have the cable bent back over itself and secured with a nylon tie. Not sure if that's OK to do with these sata cables or not. -- Regards, joeuser - Still looking for the 'any' key... ...now these points of data make a beautiful line...
