I can't launch any source games (hl2, hl2dm, sdk base) or any mods since
orange box, is that a bug too? Launch game, Preparing to launch, hl2.exe at
task manager, dissappears, nothing.

I complained at steam support and haven't received response since december /
early january after the third exchange (they on vacations?), basically the
only thing that works is the create-a-mod option.

OK Mike. It makes more sense saying it is a bug than saying that OB is
absolutely required after saying that 218 is the engine 2 and all what you
said about ability for non OB owners to play mode using OB.

I won't search anymore till bug is fixed. Ty

If you dont have any Orange Box games you will have trouble running a

To run the OB code you need an OB engine, currently that is either
HL2:EP2 hl2.exe or TF2 hl2.exe. and their respective AppID's. The dlls
will crash on the older engine (ConCommand changes, etc).

I don't have any parameters to launch SourceSDK.
If I specify "-engine ep1", it is the same problem.
I can't have this window where I can specify if want to use Orange Box

Now, if I start steam without specifying "-beta srcsdk0122", it will

Is it due to the fact I only have HL2 (including CSS + HL2MP) or
something else ?

I hope you 'll be able to help me.
