Re: [hlds] bots now load after 1st round with update CSS dedicated w2k

2005-06-19 Thread Clayton Macleod
when I was having a bunch of crashes I took a look through the nav
meshes for the custom maps we had running, and sure enough there were
problems with them. Things such as nav points being in inaccessible
places, other goofiness, would cause the crashes. After fixing those
things my crashes were gone.

Only one custom map, it has a new nav mesh. Haven't tried leaving the
bots on since a few updates ago.
Maybe it will work, but loading after players is supposed to work. Its a
Valve bug. I don't run any mods.

Alfred,
No moving it back doesn't change anything. I put it in valve.rc to stop
the server full error with bots that happened a
while ago. I am not running any mod or admins, using win2k sp4. It has
also stopped executing banned_user.cfg in server.cfg

I have my bot.cfg set to execute from valve.rc It was working fine up
till the latest update.
Noticed users entering and no bots loading, so I went in my self and
discovered the problem.
Is there a work around?

Re: [hlds] VAC2 Beta information

2005-06-19 Thread T3XAN

I have been running vacbeta since a week after release on both of our
pubs and generally anytime these guys have connection issues it always
seems to be that once they restart steam the issue is resolved. If you
see these guys get these sorts of errors and they are regs simply
suggest to them to restart steam.

We enabled VAC2 beta today. So far i've seen a couple peeps disconnected
with the message (reason: No Steam Logon), after they had already joined and
were playing. They were non-regs, so prolly can't get any further info
unless they stumble into our website and post about it. We also have 2 regs
that have had probs, from whom i can get more info, one of them posted on
our forums that::

"I got booted twice with a message that said I had no steam id even though I
had been playing for several minutes. How could I play if I didn't have an
ID?"

and the other:

"All of the sudden when I try to log onto the server i get some VAC error
about can't get a secure connection"

I'm trying to get more specific info from each of them, but at the same time
i don't know exactly what info would be helpful, so beyond getting the exact
error messages, which i've asked of them, what would you like to know? Our
server has the latest updates on it, if you need more info about it I can
get that for you too.

We are particularly interested in hearing about any issues regarding

connection

problems.

Things to watch for:
- "No Steam Logon" errors reported by clients. If a user gets this
consistently across a couple day period then get them to go to our
support site for help.
- "steamclient.dll not found, server communication disabled." printed
out on startup. For linux users make sure you have at least GLIBC 2.3.2
or above. You also need to allow outbound UDP traffic on port 27014 from
your server. If you do have the correct GLIBC version or run under win32
then contact me to debug the problem.

Thanks for your help.

have since moved the exec bot.cfg line back to the server.cfg. It should
