Re: [hlds] Bots not vacating immediately?

2005-10-19 Thread Dagok

James, no offense, but stop trying to help. All you did was just reiterate
what I just said about quote_mode fill.
You are telling me nothing I don't already know and have not addressed the
problem that I outlined in the first email.

The bots are auto filling, the bots are auto vacating. The problem is bots
are just waiting until the round is over to auto vacate instead of doing it
immediately like they used to. Thus the round is completing and being
counted towards the mp_winlimit instead of starting the rounds over when
human players join.

I seem to remember auto vacate 1 was causing me crashes on map change at
times, as such I've not touched that cvar since.

Bot_quota_mode fill will add bots up to the number of players specified by
bot_quota. When a human joins a team, a bot will automatically vacate,
until
there are bot_quota human players or more.

It sounds like you want to have bots there until a human joins a team, at
which point you want all bots to disappear, this is more like bot_quota 1

bot_quota_mode fill; only with more bots?

No, I already have bot_quota_mode fill set and always have, and is the
direct opposite of auto vacate. It tells the bots to fill the server when
a
player leaves.

Let me be clear here. I went away for 2 months, came back and it was
doing
this, possibly only after the last CSS patch. Nobody has changed the
bots.cfg file.

Anyone know why the bots are not auto vacating immediately when a

I have bot_auto_vacate 1 set, but the bots wait until the end of
the round before leaving. This is especially annoying when the
map changes, and people have to wait for the bots to finish the
first round before getting to play. Furthermore, this round is
 counting towards the mp_winlimit.

It never used to do this. When a player joined a team a bot
would vacate and the rounds would restart. Why doesnt this occur
 anymore?

 thanks,

Re: [hlds] I need a simple Admin plugin

I am running reserve slots using mani and not an issue... are you sure you
configured the reserve slot +1 greater than the number playing on the
server. And are you allowing the reserve slot to fill or only a slot to
enter and then move into one of the other slots? Of course players not in
the reserve list will when the server fills be kicked or even can be routed
to another server.

16 slots + 1 for the reserve, I currently run. The reserve slot is there
but I do not allow it to fill. It is only a slot to enter and then the
player is seated to one of the 16 slots.

It really needs 2 versions of the cfg. One thats sorted by version, so
you can update your existing configs when changes are made with a new
release. One version that is sorted by functionality. When its sorted
by functionality (I think there might even be a tool out there to do it
for you) even the 200 config lines is pretty easy to hand - it just
takes a little patience - you don't need to be any kind of genius. When
you get past that it really is extremely simple to run...

When you use mani - if you only want admins to be able to do a limited

I use beetlesmod it has great functionality and he keeps the features
limited unlike mani's which has unfortunately become too bloated for its own
good.

[hlds] SourceTV's delay limitations

2005-10-19 Thread Drew Hostetler
Both CAL and TWL require a 180 second delay for SourceTV with the
following command:

tv_delay 180

However, when I execute my SourceTV .cfg (which includes this
command), restart the map, and type:

rcon tv_status

it reveals that there is only a 90 second delay. After some testing, I
figured out that I can change the delay from 0 up to 90, but not
anything over 90.

Anybody know what's going on? Is CAL and TWL both just confused as to
the limitations of SourceTV?

Thanks,
Drew

I totally agree - doesn't a multiplayer game involve social
   interaction?
Why would the same rules about normal social interaction not
 apply?
   Why
would the fact that you communicate and interact through a game
 environment
across the internet rather than face to face change the normal
  rules
   of
 etiquette, sportsmanship and politeness?

It is because some people like acting like thugs - and in this

they can get away with it.

And let's be honest here - the chap is talking about CHILD PORN

Which of you think that behaviour like that is acceptable in ANY

Re: [hlds] Bots causing memory read errors

2005-10-19 Thread Bud Ingram
Okay, so for what it's worth, what I get when I have bots on is the
following crash dialog box:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\HL2Server\srcds.exe

This applicaiton has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual
way.
Please contact the applicaiton's support team for more information.

Now, I do have *.MDMP files corresponding to times when the system crashes,
but they are empty.

Again I do not have any mods running at this point (I had been running
Beetles mod) has anyone identified a work around after first experiencing
these type of crashes?

Thank you,

 ok question

can i have 3 different ip addresses and 3 different games running on them and
all are running on port 27015 ?
 or would this cause lag?
i have a dual xeon 3 gig and all servers run just fine, im just worried that i
may be screwing up selling 27015 port all the time.

The game and maps are designed for 32 players at most.

a nice up date from valve would be to insert some spawn points into all of the
traditional maps so we can play more than 40 on traditional maps

When you try to start the second server you will get a 'Failure to
allocate UDP port 27015' error.

 So, no, you can't.

Re: [hlds] port question

2005-10-19 Thread Ook

I'm assuming you have 3 nics? Each ip address, or I believe more
specifically, each network interface, has it's own set of ports. So, yes,
you can run on 3 different ip addresses, each on the same port.

and all are running on port 27015 ?
or would this cause lag?

that i may be screwing up selling 27015 port all the time.
