[hlds] CZ crashes

2006-05-30 Thread Chorizo Omelet
Has anyone noticed their hlds:cz servers crashing? I am wondering if
there is a new hack to cause server crashes that has not been posted
yet.

Thanks,

[hlds] Will the XBox Client Connect to SRCDS Servers?

2006-05-30 Thread Frazer
Just wondering if the coming Xbox version will connect with SRCDS servers -
either present or upgraded version. I guess, more specifically, will Xbox
and PC gamers be able to join the same games? I realize we probably only
have rumours in this regard, but I would be interested in hearing what
others may have heard.

dude the xbox works on some dodge M$ network called xbox live it is
secure from the outside world and altho i don't understand the in's and
out's uses some kind of different netcode. so therefore it is impossible
for xbox gamers to play with gamers using anyother system. But then if
they could play with pc/ps2/gc users m$ couldn't charge £4 a month to
use it. there is a way around it and it's called Kaid but that's a topic
for a xbox list

Final Fantasy XI is coming to Xbox and will be using the
Same server network as the rest of the world, PCs and
PS2's. So this may not be so far fetched, though I am not
hoping it happens.

2006-05-30 Thread Sebastian Staudt

Did Valve announce any multiplayer games for Xbox(360), yet? I can't
remember one.
But to be honest, I don't think console gamers would enjoy playing a
shooter against PC gamers with mice and keyboards.

There's a general policy against using keyboard and mouse to control Xbox
games, even if you can plug them in. You're allowed to use a keyboard for
text entry, though.

2006-05-30 Thread Stuart Stegall
Through 3rd party hardware, yes (OK You can connect them but they don't
work through the XBoxInput API ... a similar situation exists on the
Xbox360 ... though on the 360 it IS possible to add the support through
the new Input API.) In reality it's not nearly the difference you think
it is. I have seen a few very good players using Xbox360 controllers at
LAN Parties.

Yes. Quake III was released on the Dreamcast and in a version that
would allow them to connect to servers on the net and as such could play
against PC people. No question as to who were the DC players. Maybe on
slower more strategic games the gap wouldn't be as huge.
