And go the same way as the steampowered forums? No thanks. Do you think the moderators over at steampowered *think* that they are heavy handed? Do they *think* that they are reasonable? They *think* they are, but they are not. Just setup some kind of automation to send all the HLDS stuff to a different mail folder. It was perfectly obvious that after the 3rd or 4th post in the "REMOVE ME" thread, that there was going to be no server related issues. OT: RE: Request for list moderation - Was: [hlds] REMOVE ME
This is the only list that valve runs which is plagued with Off Topic bullshit. I doubt they will devote man hours to weeding out the nonsense. It's been this way for 7 years. Unfortunately it's also one of the few places where an admin / GSP could have direct & relevant dialogue regarding server specific problems and possibly get a response from Valve. Take Alfred and Mike out of the picture and this list would evaporate. Maybe create some rules in your email client which filter out the posts by certain names. I did it, and it works nicely. If we could get people to just put OT in the subject line at least such filtering would be more effective instead of blanket-filtering based on name. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Regime Sent: Monday, June 18, 2007 2:36 PM To: hlds@list.valvesoftware.com Subject: Request for list moderation - Was: [hlds] REMOVE ME He signed up voluntarily for a list about hlds, not for getting his mailbox filled with comments from those who can not control themselves from replying to every idiotic thing they see.
