So true... sorry for that.

AMX ModX is pretty standard. http://www.amxmodx.org/compiler.php

Once you're on that page you can select TFC from the drop down.

I'm believing it's an issue related to something the clients have set OR
some network hiccup between them and server.

Chris,

No only a handful are complaining of choke.

And are you guys saying change the server max_rate to 5000?

Or tell the client to?

And I found an issue. Every Since Valve released this new cvar.

> sv_client_cmdrate_difference 10

For some reason i have though this was related to all rate settings.

I have been telling people it doesn't matter what you have your rates
set
for because the server would temporarily adjust them to meet minimum
server side settings.

I think i may have been wrong here. That cvar only affects cmdrate..
Right?

the client CAN adjust there rate and update_rate independent to what the
server has set. Being they are within the minimum/maximum.

Is this correct?

Tell them to set their rates properly, depending on which game the
default rate is 1-25000 and at 66 tick that isnt always enough,
anyone that complains about that I tell them to put rate 5 and that
usually smooths it out, you can do this for people using cvars.

AMX Mod X is very easy to configure and probably has the most advanced
programming behind it (I'd say it's also the most supported). It comes with
plugins for basic admin functions, but you can also get a whole lot of other
ones too. Here are some plugins for AMX Mod X that are strictly for TFC:

Yes I am running, scrdsfpsbooster as a service. The main thing I get is

Any suggestions there?

Looking for some suggestions here. Maybe it can help everyone.

I just got a new dedicate server for our community to use.

250 Gig Raid0 (I think)

I wan to run

1- DOD:s 24 Slot.
2 - TF2 - 24 Slot

So far I have the 2 Cod4, and 2 DOD:s on the box, and am using 2GB of

you say 100mbit but how much bandwidth can you chew up a month, your
want list looks like about 2.5 - 3 TB a month to me & your disk I0
looks rather heavy would look maybe look at addtional drives if you
want to keep this setup.

As others have said I would look at getting another box rather
putting all your eggs in one basket 1 x server per core is nice having
said that we have 24 man CSS & 18 man tf2 war server with sourceTV on
one core without issue & a 28 slot tf2 eating another core all at 66
tick..

We found little difference on cpu load running 300(250) vs 600
fps(512) pings were slightly improved, so we run them at 600fps.
Players without looking at netgraph couldn't tell the difference
between 66 & 100 tick(apart from funky door issues with 100 tick) load
seemed a bit higher with 100 tick so we run at 66 tick :)

we run...

sv_minrate 15000///
sv_maxrate 3///
sv_mincmdrate 66//
sv_maxcmdrate 100//
sv_minupdaterate 66///
sv_maxupdaterate 100///
sv_client_predict 1
sv_client_interpolate 1
sv_client_min_interp_ratio 1//
sv_client_max_interp_ratio 1//
sv_client_cmdrate_difference 10/
sv_unlag 1/
sv_unlag_fixstuck 1
sv_maxunlag .2/

I hope this helps..

Re: [hlds] [Tf2] Map doesnt switch

2008-01-22 Thread LDuke

The server creates the tf_gamerules entity, but the map must send input that
defines the behavior required for the map.

All of the Valve maps send the input necessary for that map. This map
apparently does not. Therefore, the bug is with the map.

Agreed, BAT is nice and simple with little overhead. I do have customers that
run sourcemod on TF2 and that works well for them.
I would suggest trying BAT first and then upgrading if you need addition

Re: [hlds] Looking for suggestions

2008-01-22 Thread Roman Hatsiev
It is not clear from your description whether you run FPS booster or
not. If not then you should try it first to see if it will improve
your gaming experience.

Speaking of resources your new box should be fine running all those
servers even with full load - dual Xeon 5310 is quite a workhorse. I
had similar box running several public CS:S 100 ticks servers with FPS
booster quite some time ago, it was doing just great under 100-110
players while all games you mentioned are less demanding than boosted
100 tics CS:S.

Roman

RE: [hlds] Looking for suggestions

2008-01-22 Thread Greg Williams
Strange you should say that.

With 32 players on DOD and 24 on COD last night I was using 3% of the
100mb Network connection.

As for stability. I am no where touching the CPU or memory with the above
load?

What do you base your remarks on? I am not bashing, I am trying to learn.

And so far the data from the box fully substantiates 6 sever instances.

I am looking for Rate Settings. DTMS, did they recommend 33 tick for 32
players?

Thanks again all.

---
If what he's saying is correct it does appear that the machine could
handle
2 more servers loaded on it.

Good luck with running 6 servers on 1 machine. Hope you enjoy lagg. No
offence, but why do you want to run that much gameservers on one machine?
If
you have a decent community buy another server to run those servers
stable.

I don't know if you are starting a new community or that one exist, but I
shall rather focus on 2 gameserver on one machine then 6 of them. Beside
that, your creating a hell of datatrafic!

Hey all,

Looking for some suggestions here. Maybe it can help everyone.

I just got a new dedicate server for our community to use.

Stats:
2 Quad Core Intel Xeons 1.6GHZ
8Gigs 533DDR2
Windows 2003 Server Enterprise
250 Gig Raid0 (I think)
100Gig Ethernet
Good DataCenter.

I wan to run
1 - DOD:s 32 Slot.
1- DOD:s 24 Slot.
2 - TF2 - 24 Slot
2 Cod4 - 24 Slot.

So far I have the 2 Cod4, and 2 DOD:s on the box, and am using 2GB of the
Ram, and 10% Cpu with 50 player total across the COD & DOD servers.

I am looking for the optimum setting for the DOD Server. I want to stay at
66 tick. I have no interest in 100. Lots of players experience choke.
Especially on the 32 slot server when we get above 20 players. The server
is
running sourceboost.

// bandwidth rates/settings
sv_minrate 1
sv_maxrate 3
sv_mincmdrate 30
sv_maxcmdrate 66
sv_minupdaterate 30
sv_maxupdaterate 86
sv_client_predict 1
sv_client_interpolate 1
sv_client_cmdrate_difference 10
decalfrequency 10
fps_max 300 ---> I have this in because the command line is set to 600..
Was testing the 300 setting.

Any help would be appreciated.

Here is my current setup.
