I updated my test TF2 server (Win32 - XP Pro) with the latest TF2 update

 found a test scenario that appears to show the memory leak.

 In only 6 hours the memory usage has significantly increased from

 The engine specificity wasn't known when this thread started, just that
 there was a memory leak in SRCDS.

 There have been recent updates for both server engines so its always best

I also run a CS:S server and until it started to get busy it didn't use
much ram.
 I'm not sure about how much traffic some of you get but if a server
 sits
 idle
 it will not use anymore memory then it is currently using.
Its the churn that does it (players leaving and joining)
 as my user ID goes up also does the RAM

Since I restarted the server after last update I've already dropped from
1547MB memory free to 935MB. It hasn't even been a day yet and the three
srcds processes have already leaked 600MB.

[hlds] No new medic weapons

Hi all,

I'm really stuck on this and was wondering if someone could help.. i'm 
almost to the point of begging :(

since last nights update our windows server dont seem to let you play 
with the new medic weapons.. you can goto the load out screen and choose 
them but when returning to the action your still stuck with the normal 
weapons (as per pre medic achievement release).

our linux servers are fine..

just for information i have created a new server instance from scratch 
and used the hldsupdatetool to bring down the up to date version to make 
sure it was nothing we had done on the other servers.  This new one is 
completely vanilla.. nothing on it at all...not even a config file setup!!

I can leave this new server up if people want to take a look..

Please help as it effecting all our windows (5) servers.

we have had numerous people asking us how we managed to stop the weapons 
from being equipped.. obviously we don't have an answer for them due to 
us not knowing ..lol

1. Cant miss the big red print in loadout area changes will occur after 
respawn.
2. I didn't say they stopped working, just mentioned I have to die to visually 
see the new weapon.
3. I didn't notice that if I remove read only from my client config.cfg I do 
switch weapons immediately.

Hey,

A lot of people had this issue a few weeks back. It seems if the
server loses contact with steam it can't determine if players are
allowed to use the weapons and denies everybody. I would make sure
your servers are indeed fully connecting to steam (make sure the
status command reports secure mode), check your firewall, etc.
If a fresh server doesn't work for you, I would guess firewall/routing
connectivity issues, though someone (Valve) will have to clarify
how/over what connection the server gets this information, I'm not
entirely sure :-/

We have 3 TF2 servers running on Win2003 dedicated with a gameserver
companywe have had several crashes today.  One crash was noted when
turning on tourney mode during a match.  All servers have been restarted 4
times.  Any ideas?

Don't run their maps. If you want to be safe, simply open the map in wordpad
and look for rcon_password, if you see shenanigans, delete the map.

It uses the Orange Box directory... DOD:S must be coming to the OB engine.

My server appears to be up: 208.43.143.57:27015

Interestingly enough, I'm getting the server is out of date errors:
MasterRequestRestart
Your server will be restarted on map change.
Your server will be restarted on map change.

I guess that is VALVe's way of making sure no server makes it onto the 
Steam server browser yet. If you updated to the Steam Client Candidate 
verison, both DoD: S Beta and CS: S Beta are listed in the Steam Server 
Browser.

Files for CS: S 07 Beta anyone?

Or, they delay it. The issue, if they delay it  -  it's just more damage 
done to the already fragile community that revolves around DoD: S. (Not 
so much CS: S)
