[hlds] TF2 Event Log
Is there documentation anywhere that outlines the in-game events (change class, player kills player, suicide, etc) and defines how they are logged in the event log (via UDP)? I'm looking to parse the log and would like to be as accurate as possible. Re: [hlds] Client crash question
Give this a shot. http://www.halflife2.net/forums/showthread.php?t=131328 It's been quite helpful to a lot of people. By the way, with Vista, you would never have this problem. ;) -Richard Eid On Wed, Oct 1, 2008 at 1:44 AM, Ook [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I've used XP64 for a long time, and it is rock solid. Very few things don't work with XP64. TF2 uses a ton of paged pool. It and Steam both use a lot of GDI objects. Tsk tsk tsk, Valve. Mirc and winamp and AVG don't use squat for resources. As much as resource pigs Steam and hl2.exe might be, they still don't use enough to cause problems. I can start TF2 with mirc, avg, and winamp running. And a slew of other things as well. Something else is wrong. I would suggest the OP open up task manager, add Paged Pool and non-paged pool to the sensor list, and see what is using resources. - Original Message - From: Anthal [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Half-Life dedicated Win32 server mailing list hlds@list.valvesoftware.com Sent: Tuesday, September 30, 2008 11:07 AM Subject: Re: [hlds] Client crash question XP x64 is notoriously buggy. Most things just don't work well in it. The Paged Pool Memory error is a common bug. If it happens less with LESS RAM, I'd run error checks on your memory. It could be that some of the sticks are bad, or are going bad. You may also want to increase the size of your virtual memory, and close any programs that may be memory hogs (Firefox, IE, virus scanners, etc). Saint K. wrote: Your so god damn funny... This only seems to happen on windows XP x64, on my 32bit install these problems are not present. Also when running on 2GB instead of 4GB the error happens a lot less. I've mailed VALVe about it a couple of times, but I get no response, so I thought I'd drop the question in here to see if anyone knows a fix other then the 'fix' on the steam page (some reg edit). Re: [hlds] TF2 Event Log
I recommend looking into psychostats (or another stats) code. And maybe on sourcemod wiki you'll find something. Re: [hlds] [hlds_linux] Counter-Strike 1.6 Beta Updated
I took a crack at making Russian walking less useful in the most recent beta update (along with some other exploits) so please check it out. I also expect that this is close to the last beta update so these changes will be rolling to the mainline cstrike soon, if you run a cstrike server make sure you test the server on your setup. - Alfred -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:hlds_linux- [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Pawel Sent: Sunday, September 28, 2008 4:38 AM To: Half-Life dedicated Linux server mailing list Subject: Re: [hlds_linux] Counter-Strike 1.6 Beta Updated yes, but rusian walking, no ;] On Sun, Sep 28, 2008 at 1:13 PM, Ronny Schedel [EMAIL PROTECTED] schedel.dewrote: Bunny hopping can be switched off by server cvars. That would be if you can find a way to remove/limit the exploit known as Russian walking, whereby a player taps crouch repeatedly to move at running speed with very little noise. I am afraid that this exploit is becoming more pervasive than bunnyhopping did, and ruins the flow of gameplay in a similar manner, this may not be the ideal place to mention it however as this is liable to be the last big update for cs 1.6 it would be an invaluable opportunity to fix this exploit. cheers, f|shy.
