The fact u cant change the ingame nick in tf2 and it uses the friends nick = fail imo. what if u play for several clans and dont want to tag up in your friends list? what if u want to take a funny nick? besides that, the friends-tag ingame dont work at all, shows random players as friends. and if u change your nick via console, it switches back everytime u change server / mapchange. and what if u dont want to use friends at all? imo the system used in earlier games is way better. You can set your Friends List status to Offline, and I've been playing TF2 since beta and can't remember ever seeing someone show up as a friend and them not have been... maybe it's a 1.6 bug? There is a Counter-Strike 1.6 Beta available to all existing Counter-Strike owners. The dedicated server beta is available when you run hldsupdatetool using cstrike_beta. The focus of this beta is on the dedicated server component, in particular the Linux piece. I have to say i am quite surprised by this update. Makes sense to me, IIRC CS:S is being ported to the newer source engine, so no need to make an incremental update, given it'll have those features soon enough anyway.
