Vit, What type of router / modem is your server running behind? Linksys routers and Actiontec modem/routers have been known to cause this. - Original Message - From: vit To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, October 14, 2004 12:56 AM Subject: [hlds] Mass client dump (Illegible server message - svc_bad) Alfred I need your help... As it happens in bursts (for example two-three times on a single map and then it's steady for a couple of hours) I guess it could be related to player joining. Maybe it's some kind of malformed packet sent at the time the player is connecting to the server. I was trying to pinpoint this problem for last 6 months but this action seems so random sometimes. It's really hard to do so and the bug is so irritating. I hope someone will come up with a solution in the near future. I have been running AMX and AMX Mod X. Maybe it's releted to those products or even metamod. I really can't say. The problem occurs on the client side so the logs are useless - you have to experience this yourself to even see the error message. - Alfred -- Martel Valgoerad (a.k.a. [ Converted text/html to text/plain ] could it be something as simple as the characters in the players name - if they are in a certain order it will cause the players to drop. Re: [hlds] Mass client dump (Illegible server message - svc_bad)
-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] This problem is why I stopped playing CS 1.6. I would get the svc_bad error and get dumped from 1.6 atleast once a day. Also, I would get lagged out by a flush_entity packet and have to do a consoledump to stay connected to the server I was on about ever half hour or so. This would only happen when I played out of my lan network, when I play inside my lan I do not get this. In CS:CZ my brother-in-law now has this problem when he connects to my server which never happened before (he is outside my network). I do not have this problem in CS:CZ or Source.
