RE: [hlds] users timed out

2007-10-30 Thread Eric van Beesten
Happend again a few minutes ago. The server is full all day and we don't
have hardware issues. We can't seem to find the problem, because it happened
only 1 times a day with our server. Beside that the server is doing nothing
then hosting a tf2 server. The strangest thing is that not all players get
kicked.

If the kick is over the server is fine for a day. No more kickes etc.

5 people timed out on one of the 4 servers on my box at once. It seems to
happen a lot too. I have 1 TF2 server on the box.

I was wondering the exact same thing, I've been getting it a lot on my TF2
servers.

Occasionally up to half of the server will get kicked out.

I don't use SourceMod myself, I use Mani. I also run metamod source on the
server.

I have three servers on the machine, a 24 man cs:s gungame, 32 man TF2 and
another 32 man TF2. Both of the 32 man TF2 servers are affected, but they
usually don't get the time out errors simultaneously.

 Hee guys,

Just a question. Sinds a few days our server has a little problem.
 Sometimes
in the middle of the map players got kicked for time out. for example see
below. This is only happening in the last few days and never happened
before. The server is a amd 3000 and tf2 has been installed there from the
beginning. The addon installed is sourcemod (but I don't think that is the
 problem).

Anyway, this problems is happening in the last few days. Anyone know what
the problem is? Or how it can be solved?

 Greetz,

 Eric

Actually, for SRCDS it is the number of level changes since start. For
HLDS it is total number of players that have ever connected. Learn
something new every day eh?

yea i just checkd one of my servers and it has 2 people in right
now, and the server has been up for awhile.. well its not on the
map it starts on, so im guessing its been up awhile, lol.. and
stats came up with this.. CPU InOut Uptime Users FPS
 Players
 0.00 3626.79 4223.23 62 1 99.91 2

it as well says only 1 user, while 2 players are on.

and my other server sitting empty aside from 4 bots, has a user
count of 9 with 4 players... soo i don't know.

i know the user count used to climb to high numbers, but i haven't
lookd at it for a long while.

say oops, the source server looks like it's not reflecting the
right count after all, I was aliased by the uptime that just
happened to match the player count at that moment, too weird.

It currently is telling me one player with 4 on right now ...
perhaps it's telling us the map rollovers instead? (I just
 restarted the server).

both my hldm and my hl2dm server (win32) reflect the proper

Kevin if that were true then how does a server with 32 players
on it only have 12 users?

 15:41:59 CPUInOut Uptime Users
 FPS Players
 13.99 53560.51 143045.58 617 12
 257.16 32

Or is Users reset at every map change and its only new
 connections since the
 map change that are counted?

I recall that the user column would climb into the 1000's quite
 easily, but
I have just done a quick run through of all my servers with
players in them with all of them with players over double
digits, but users only registering in the single digit range.

 Am I missing something here?

Probably a silly question with an answer I've forgotten

the users column mean in the stats output?

If Users = map changes then it seems uptime is now how many players have

13:20:34 CPU In Out Uptime Users FPS
Players
  78.12 104258.52 191168.381915 4859.32 32

But 48 * 25 Minutes per map = about the 20 odd hours it has in fact been up.

Is that correct Alfred?

RE: [hlds] Users?

2005-12-13 Thread Alfred Reynolds
No, uptime should be number of minutes since server start. That time
will wander a little with respect to wall clock time due to accumulation
errors, but I wouldn't expect a 12 hour deficit after just 20 hours of
up time...

Kevin if that were true then how does a server with 32
players on it only have 12 users?

 15:41:59 CPUInOut Uptime Users
 FPS Players
 13.99 53560.51 143045.58 617 12 257.16
 32

Or is Users reset at every map change and its only new
connections since the map change that are counted?

I recall that the user column would climb into the 1000's
quite easily, but I have just done a quick run through of all
my servers with players in them with all of them with players
over double digits, but users only registering in the single
 digit range.

 Am I missing something here?

78.12 104258.52 191168.381915 4859.32

Maybe the r became a typo in the last update and its now USES!

Sorry, trying to lighten the mood. My servers are down atm (hardware issues)
or else I'd check. But from the data provided already it looks like a) mods
are screwing the stats output up, or b) there is a serious issue with this
latest update that is nerfing the users column.

I am sure Alfred and them 1337 coders at Valve are replicating this issue as
we speak and hopefully patching it sometime before Christmas.

in the single digit range.

Am I missing something here?

Probably a silly question with an answer I've forgotten about, but
 what
 does
the users column mean in the stats output?

 15:41:59 CPUInOut Uptime Users FPS
 Players
 13.99 53560.51 143045.58 617 12
 257.16
 32

 Thanks

yea i just checkd one of my servers and it has 2 people in right now,
 and
the server has been up for awhile.. well its not on the map it starts
 on,
  so
im guessing its been up awhile, lol.. and stats came up with this..
  CPU InOut Uptime Users FPSPlayers
  0.00 3626.79 4223.23 62 1 99.91 2

it as well says only 1 user, while 2 players are on.

and my other server sitting empty aside from 4 bots, has a user count
 of
  9
  with 4 players... soo i don't know.

i know the user count used to climb to high numbers, but i haven't
 lookd
  at
  it for a long while.

say oops, the source server looks like it's not reflecting the right
  count
after all, I was aliased by the uptime that just happened to match the
player count at that moment, too weird.

It currently is telling me one player with 4 on right now ... perhaps
  it's
telling us the map rollovers instead? (I just restarted the server).

I'm not sure what is going on, are you running some mod on that
 server?

both my hldm and my hl2dm server (win32) reflect the proper counts.

Kevin if that were true then how does a server with 32 players on it
  only
  have 12 users?

  15:41:59 CPUInOut Uptime Users FPS
  Players
  13.99 53560.51 143045.58 617 12257.16
  32

Or is Users reset at every map change and its only new connections
  since
  the
  map change that are counted?

I recall that the user column would climb into the 1000's quite
  easily,
  but
I have just done a quick run through of all my servers with players
 in
  them
with all of them with players over double digits, but users only
  registering
  in the single digit range.

  Am I missing something here?
