oh, and what source would that be?

They ban the right for people to learn programming languages and think up
nasty and evil schemes of how to hack a game next?

Lets face it, its going to get cracked sooner or later, im not supporting
the cheaters far from it, im just making out its a EXTREMELY hard task to
make a game UN-HACKABLE..

Obviously you're not a programmer ... That's like saying you can't keep a
terrorist from a cockpit ...

Believe me, there are tons of way to prevent these simple hacks, but it
should start from within the program in my opinion ...

We're not talking about registration hacks, we're talking about a client
server model and plenty of places to do constant checking ...

Since Tuesday's announcement regarding PunkBuster going commercial, we
have
received four inquiries from commercial game developers (including Valve)
about the possibility of integrating our Anti-Cheat software technology
into
their products. We continue to desire relationships with game designers
who
are serious about stopping cheaters. We will release more details as soon
as
possible (hopefully, in the near future).

What a shame ... PunkBuster doesn't even work (don't take my word for it,
test it for yourself) ... I think VALVe should fix it at the source
instead of trying to put on a band-aid after the fact ...

ok, is there any one here that honestly can say they can make a game that
will be TOTALLY UN HACKABLE..

I would have to say there is none.. because cracking nad hacking ALWAYS
FINDS A WAY.. im not talking about sometimes.. or now and again im talking
about ALWAYS, whether it be simple hacks or complex ones..

look at cd copy right protection for instance, there are a lot of cd
protection methods, and there are equally the ammount of work arounds,

you think you have made a un hackable game and before you know it, theres a
loader or a seperate exe or a bug that someone accidently found or made..
trust me. theres no such thing as ABSOLUTE SECURITY

although a cockpit and terroists is FAR OF THE MARK and has no relevance or
relativity to a computer game and hacks... bad analogy
