Could you make this cvar a public one so server query tools can filter by it?

Thanks!

Thank goodness for that or it would cause chaos for competitions.

TBH not sure many will leave it enabled as people generally
dont like unpredictability.

 MY Opinion:
 1. the price will change in waves:

 buys
 awp -> awp becomes cheap -> ...

 2. we can delete all buyscripts and not use autobuy anymore.
kevlar&helmet, ak, m4 will INCREASE in price till 10.000s

Hi all,

Recently my server hdd crashed so I had to replace it and reinstall CS on
it. It run perfectly for 2 years, but since my reinstall it runs bad

When it's in secure mode people can't connect to it anymore, they get the
following message:

Error! Server verification failed

hostname: [NL] Foute Baas Counter-Strike
version : 47/1.1.2.5/Stdio 2827 secure
tcp/ip : 80.69.78.200:27015
map : de_aztec at: 0 x, 0 y, 0 z
players : 0 active (24 max)

And so the server stays empty :(

When it's in insecure mode, well ... see for yourself:

hostname: [NL] Foute Baas Counter-Strike
version : 47/1.1.2.5/Stdio 2827 insecure
tcp/ip : 80.69.78.200:27015
map : de_dust2 at: 0 x, 0 y, 0 z
players : 24 active (24 max)

Who knows what might cause this?

I run the following scripts on it:

Currently loaded plugins:
description stat pend file vers src load unlod
[ 1] AMX Mod X RUN - amxmodx_mm_amd64 v1.76 ini ANY ANY
[ 2] Fun RUN - fun_amxx_amd64.s v1.76 pl1 ANY ANY
[ 3] Engine RUN - engine_amxx_amd6 v1.76 pl1 ANY ANY
[ 4] FakeMeta RUN - fakemeta_amxx_am v1.76 pl1 ANY ANY
[ 5] CStrike RUN - cstrike_amxx_amd v1.76 pl1 ANY ANY
[ 6] CSX RUN - csx_amxx_amd64.s v1.76 pl1 ANY ANY
6 plugins, 6 running

It's the same scripts I allways had running before the reinstall. And it's
not a problem which affects some players, all players who used to come
can't connect anymore and get the verification error.

Please help or advice.

Thanks in advance.

Gr,

Marcel

I concur. Seems that some of the servers from random places are not
vacced. One of our servers is and the other is not and both are at same

Can we please have this working? It keeps some of the idiots away who

What do you mean about the 64bit amxmodx?

It's not stopped, I use the 1.76 release which is now 5 days old, and has
it's own 64 bit compiled packages.

Or do you mean something else?

Indeed I don't run 64 bit though I can but choose not to as you can see from

Try running it without any plugins.

You're not running 64 bit? Cause I have seen before that 32 bit had a
higher version number... don't know why that is to be honest.

But still doesn't fix my problems :)

Seems okay?

[hlds_linux] VAC breathing its last again?

2006-09-23 Thread fishy

VAC seems to be gasping for air once again
The servers appear to be randomly losing connection to steam3

Is there any particular reason for this?

RE: [hlds_linux] Error! Server verification failed

Indeed I don't run 64 bit though I can but choose not to as you can see from
previous posts, in a nutshell VAC2 doesn't work. I seem to remember the AMXX
chap stopping support for 64 bit a while back too.

Try running it without any plugins.

You're not running 64 bit? Cause I have seen before that 32 bit had a
higher version number... don't know why that is to be honest.

But still doesn't fix my problems :)

Truely is the worse update I've seen. ever. An update every Monday to

everyone use ak,m4 ? they are good and should cost MORE.
why does noone use the other weapons? they are to expensive.

 MY Opinion:
 1. the price will change in waves:
awp is cheap -> everyone buys awp -> awp becomes expensive -> noone

 awp -> awp becomes cheap -> ...

 2. we can delete all buyscripts and not use autobuy anymore.
kevlar&helmet, ak, m4 will INCREASE in price till 10.000s

Oh dear Valve..

Truely is the worse update I've seen. ever. An update every Monday to
the price lists? Thats just going to be a pain in the arse.

Actually there's a priority option within prime which seems to override
nice, so try setting that (sorry if you've already done that, just covering
the obvious), on a single cpu setup it behaves correctly, will see if I can
sneak some time when a ht system is quiet a bit later to test on that.

Thanks for the stats, handy to know someone else got about that. I don't
have any none used HT setups atm to try it on without people screaming :). I
think there's a couple of things though, gameserver code may be better or
worse in how much extra you will get than prime, not really an easy way to
tell I think (I know you haven't said anything on that, just in case others
reading).

I did try it on a single cpu none ht though out of interest just to see the
behaviour (as only one we have spare to load cpu atm), and I couldn't get it
to switch out of 50/50 either, and it didn't seem to take notice of nice (in
top it even said same nice which is weird). So basically wondering if that
problem is a problem with prime rather than HT?

Is it possible for you to try it on a single cpu/virtual cpu setup and see
if its the same? Just then isolates the behaviour out of a ht system.

I benchmarked mprime on HT and got something like
running 1 mprime instance used 150ms per iteration (like without HT),
running 2 mprimes instances at the same used each 270ms per iteration.

so,
calculating 2 iterations using one mprime instance (anyway weather HT on
or off) takes 300ms
calculating 2 iterations using two mprime instances on HT takes 270ms
about 10% more throughput.

Well because It was interesting for me I did above benchmarks again
using different nice levels for both mprime and BTW I discoverd another
Problem which lets me think more bad about HT now:

If you run 2 processes at the same time with different nice levels then
the behavior is not as you would expected on a single_CPU or a
real_multi_core!

Here I posted that more exactly:
http://mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?p=87769#post87769

Dunno weather its a problem of my system (maybe someone could repeat
such benchmark).
For me this means that processes which are usually niced started by cron
etc. got more bad behavior on HT as without HT and I dont see how you
could get around this.

So I think if you still want to use the little speed advantage of HT on
a gameserver then you should watch more carefully your processlist and
cron config even you didnt cared much about niced_19 processes so far.

Re: [hlds_linux] New Counter-Strike Source Weapon Pricing

2006-09-23 Thread milchworld

has nothing to do with real life.
if valve changes the prices - everyone will cry and: it would only last
a few month/years and valve will have to change the prices again.

if WE - the community can change the price - noone can cry. why does
everyone use ak,m4 ? they are good and should cost MORE.
why does noone use the other weapons? they are to expensive.

MY Opinion:
1. the price will change in waves:
awp is cheap -> everyone buys awp -> awp becomes expensive -> noone buys
awp -> awp becomes cheap -> ...

2. we can delete all buyscripts and not use autobuy anymore.
kevlar&helmet, ak, m4 will INCREASE in price till 10.000s

Haha, Valve tries too hard.

Its a Game, not real life, yes i know they want to base CS as much as
real
life gun combat as bpossible, there is a thin line to cross before
going too
far, and I think they crossed it with this.
If you wanna make it real life, then once a player dies in cs, he/she
should
no longer be able to play cs EVER because well, in realife you don't just
respawn =]

Might I be the first to state that this is perhaps the DUMBEST thing
VALVe
has ever done (that I know of). For those of you who do not know what I
am
talking about, read up at
http://www.steampowered.com/stats/csmarket/. It
appears to me that VALVe is continually trying to ruin CS:Source to
prevent
the game from being a viable alternative to CS: 1.6 in online
competitive
and LAN professional gaming venues. Poor play.
