[hlds_linux] DODS server not in master server list

2010-02-28 Thread Ronny Schedel
Hello,

we have complains from players and admins that our DOD:S server is sometimes
missing in the master server list since the last update. The master servers
itself are correctly set in the server. After 2 players has joined the
server, it is back in the master server list. Anyone else seeing this?

Best regards

Ronny Schedel

Update glibc and see if that fixes it.  Also looks like srcds_i486 is
potentially corrupted.  delete the file and initiate a fresh update of the
gameserver.  Any missing files will be reinstalled.

Not sure if the list is up yet but let's see. Got this error with L4D
server. It stopped replying and only weird thing i saw in console was:

*** glibc detected *** ./srcds_i486: double free or corruption (out):
0x088556e0 ***

New error to me. Anyone else experienced this? Happened twice since last
update.

[hlds_linux] TF2 server: A2C_PRINT No challenge for your address from master servers

2010-02-28 Thread Ross Bemrose
I administer TF2 servers on two different boxes on two different
networks in different data centers.

Since sometime yesterday, I am seeing messages like these on both servers:

A2C_PRINT from 68.142.72.250:27011 :
No challenge for your address.
A2C_PRINT from 72.165.61.136:27014 :
No challenge for your address.

The IP addresses change depending on which masters the server is
connected to, but match the values returned by setmaster

These messages are happening every time the server sends a heartbeat to
the master servers.

Additionally, the TF2 item drop rate seems to non-existent.

Are these two problems were related, and more importantly, how do we
prevent them in the future?

You are right, its just in CS:Source, but it doesn't matter, if cvar
really prevents speedhacking only, it should be added and allowed by
 default.

 2010/2/24 AnAkIn . anakin...@gmail.com:

It was not removed. This is not an engine cvar, it is a game specific

 cvar.

It is not here in other mods running on EP1 engine (CSP, etc).

I have contacted Valve and they said that it's a bug if it's not in

 TF2,

 which should be fixed soon.

 2010/2/24 w4rezz w4r...@gmail.com

Cvar sv_max_usercmd_future_ticks was removed in latest source engine

 (

TF2/DOD:S, L4D, L4D2 ), becouse this cvar really works and it

 disable

speedhacking server-side, thats horrible information for cheaters so
Valve removed that cvar, they wanna allow them and ban them lately

 by

VAC, so cheaters need to buy new game copy, there are also more new
features in latest source engine to make cheaters happy, like
sv_consistency check was removed from critical files, or sv_pure
 doesnt work with L4D.

Another thing is that my PHP requests thatquery the server for players,

Re: [hlds_linux] Team Fortress 2 Update Released - SourceTV isstillnot counted as player

2010-02-28 Thread Ronny Schedel

And another problem: player slots are shown as occupied in the serverinfo
but are not, the player names are empty. The server is full in the server
info but is not full in reality, because of these occupied player slots. We
need a quick fix!

There is another problem: custom cvars are not shown in the server info
anymore. We had this update in the past and it was rolled back, Valve,
please do the same this time again and never bring it back again. Thank
 you.

The problem with SourceTV still exist, it's described here:

 http://www.mail-archive.com/hlds_linux@list.valvesoftware.com/msg56894.html

SourceTV must be counted as a player, like before this update.

An update for Team Fortress 2 is now available. The specific changes
 include:

 Engine:
 - Fixed servers with bots reporting incorrect player numbers

 Team Fortress 2:
 - Fixed pipebombs not colliding correctly with players

Been having the same exact issue since the last update. Doing a status
command in-game will not show the empty slots, although the server info
will. I can see the empty slots using HLSW, but they have join times and
nothing else; they cannot be kicked. Players are still able to join by
direct connect when the server is full but the player count can go
over max eg 26/24.

All empty names on our servers will turn to players once they are fully
connected. Empty names are very common during map change when people
still download the custom map. This method propably is a fix for the
unwanted delisting of servers which some people did for certain servers.
Then again, we do not use SourceTV on our servers.

Running an idle server, since the update I've seen up to five of the 24

2010-02-28 Thread DontWannaName!
I have 2 'players' on one of my servers at the moment. Its like the player
count isnt updating all the time. The empty named clients have been there
for a day now. My full servers also go to 33/32 with the 33rd player being
fake. The max slots is 32 so its strange, that fixes itself, its gotten to
34 before too. Optional update installed.
