Re: [hlds_linux] IPv6 Support
Companies shout "We aren't ready for IPv6, its not even heavily used anyway" - when they don't realize that they are the problem. Without companies adopting to IPv6 it won't catch on early enough. If your server host doesn't support IPv6, Softlayer.com does and their $100 cloud server runs srcds just fine. Just food for thought that everyone can store in the back of their head when the time comes. [hlds_linux] L4D1 master server problems
Hello, L4D1 servers have still the problem to reconnect to the master servers. I suppose it is the same problem which was fixed for TF2/DOD:S but not for L4D1. It would be nice to have a fix or workaround, instead of killing the whole fork of servers. Re: [hlds_linux] COUNTER-STRIKE: SOURCE BETA
The two warnings are caused by the fact that you are using -autoupdate, which by the way doesn't work with cstrike_beta yet. -autoupdate triggers a search for the steam binary. In this case it can't find the binary. -autoupdate doesn't work right now because the srcds_run script assumes that the steam package name is the same as the mod name, which is true in most cases. But in this case the mod name is cstrike_beta and the steam package is cssbeta. If you use -autoupdate it will download the goldsource cstrike beta package instead. http://ipv4depletion.com/?page_id=4 18 months is too positive.. The above site has one of the most precise calculations. Around 300 days till IANA runs out. [hlds_linux] A2C_PRINT, can it DOS a server?
Hi all, I have been observing some random fallouts (all people getting disconnects, and reconnect after 20-30 seconds) on my L4D2 servers, and I have been trying to figure out whats causing the problem. First thought was that the server simply was overencumbered, even though its running at around 80% utilization when all forks are filled. But then I observed the same behaviour just now, and at the time, only 2 forks were populated (around 15% utilization), and what was even stranger, a TF2 server I am also running, did the same exact thing, and there were no players on that at all. In the TF2 log, I could see the following. -- Connection to Steam servers lost. A2C_PRINT from 216.207.205.99:27011 : No challenge for your address.A2C_PRINT from 216.207.205.98:27011 : No challenge for your address.Connection to Steam servers successful. VAC secure mode is activated. -- It seems like theres an A2C_PRINT connection, which in turn causes the server to loose connection to the Steam servers. Am I correct in assuming that the A2C_PRINT is the cause for these system hiccups? And if so, are there any way to disable them? (Are they needed for anything?) [hlds_linux] Cant start Source TV
Hello, my problem is, that I cant start Source TV on a CSS Server In my config is this: tv_enable 1 // SourceTV aktivieren. (1=an 0=aus) Mit status und tv_status kann man den Port und die Verzögerung vom SourceTV-Server sehen. tv_port 26020 // NICHT ABÄNDERN !!! tv_name TV Server // Name des TV-Relay Servers But when I start the Gameserver, there is no Sourve TV Relay where I can connect with an Source TV Server. My startscript is this: ./srcds_run -game cstrike +map de_dust -maxplayers 12 +sv_password password -ip xx.xx.xxx.xxx -port 27050 -tickrate 100 +fps_max 600 -autoupdate And this says HLSW to me: 11:10:46 tv_status 11:10:47 SourceTV not active. 11:10:51 tv_enable 11:10:51 "tv_enable" = "1" ( def. "0" ) - Activates SourceTV on server. -- GRATIS für alle GMX-Mitglieder: Die maxdome Movie-FLAT!
