We've released a mandatory update to Team Fortress 2. The notes for the
update are below.

-Eric

--

Source Engine Changes (TF2, DoD:S, HL2:DM)

no
longer subtracted from maxplayers.

Team Fortress 2
- Added the Alladin's Private Reserve for the Demo
- Fixed a bug where the Medic would lose his healing target's speed when
deploying his ÜberCharge while using the Quick-Fix
- Fixed a bug that would cause some Team Spirit painted hats to show as
black-painted in the Steam Community
- Localized the team goal strings for cp_steel and pl_frontier
- Added missing level_data strings to kill_eater_score_type elements in
the

GetSchema WebAPI response
- Updated pl_frontier with author-submitted fixes:
   - small prop adjustments
   - several unsewn/gappy displacements fixed up
   - func_push altered below final capture point
- Undocumented changes: Updated all localization files

Thanks!

Speaking of the quick-fix... a medic by himself can deploy uber and become
invulnerable. A medic by himself who deploys quick-fix does not get
increased self-healing. Is this a bug or intended?

I'm sure they know about the issue and instead of releasing a patch to fix
it they rather raise a middle finger to us and laugh as we bitch and moan
about these crashes.

(I'm pretty sure they had the ability to fix it they would, why would they
sit on known bugs longer than they have to?)

Re: [hlds_linux] trade server crashes

2012-01-26 Thread Frank
I sometimes play for 4+hours... I may just sit in a trade server and trade a
while or chat it up some. The crashes are there, sometimes it may just lag
very badly and when a map change is forced to try to correct the lag the
server crashes. The servers sometimes just crash at random - may not crash
but will force all clients to drop from a HL2 crash issue which isn't server
related but client related- or so we think.

Again...nothing from Valve about this yet, not one single word about either
issue. Instead we are getting notices about black listing servers when there
is a bigger problem even if a select few don't have it if only after 2 hours
of game play.

Re: [hlds_linux] trade server crashes

2012-01-26 Thread ics
Whenever there is a crash issue, they need to know what is causing it in
order to fix it. Perhaps the crash dumps are not enough (they don't have
any leads).

But since the ball is physics object and i have had 2 mysterious crashes
on regular servers related to events that had physics related issues
going on (pyros airblasting a heavy that was being shot by sentry) but
this is just be guessing.

Subject: Re: [hlds_linux] trade server crashes

If that is true (I've not tested it) but if true that just makes for a
perfect magnet to those that want to get even with a server...join up, toss
out or find soccer ball then change class to punch it - Boom server goes
down.

SO yeah if that is true it needs fixed yesterday!

2 hours testing is hardly any test for this issue..

The engine works fine for me, I just spectated a turny on my servers for
about 2 hours which is more then enough time for a few games. No crashes.
I think its just you guys.

Re: [hlds_linux] trade server crashes

2012-01-26 Thread Frank
Yeah I'm with ya here but doesn't excuse the notion that Valve broke
something to create this crashing back during the large Xmas update and has
yet to be fixed. This and the client HL2 client crash drops are still
frequently happening which are on any type of server or any type of map.
I've yet to see this addressed or discussed from them in the last 4 weeks.
Turning off beach balls is fine (not the point to do a fix) but I've seen
the vphysics crash without noting beachball so it could be related to the
ball kicking boots from the scout or even baseballs from the scout.

Pretty sure its the map now..

*** ERROR *** Excessive sizelevel (1052) for element
*** ERROR *** Excessive sizelevel (1053) for element
*** ERROR *** Excessive sizelevel (1054) for element
*** ERROR *** Excessive sizelevel (1055) for element Ignoring bogus angles
(nan,nan,nan) from vphysics! (entity beachball)

Even points to the beachball, time to get a beachball free map..
