Re: [hlds_linux] Mandatory TF2 update released
I was hoping this would fix the PropHunt crash issue when players with server-set custom models (using the SetCustomModel input) died. It didn't. [hlds_linux] hlds exploit killing servers
hello I have several game servers cs1.6 and someone is killing them with hlds exploit exploit makes hlds engine send bad checksum packets to random IPs, many of them, but I see the most of them are valve steam server IPs so after some time, my servers go offline for few minutes and console says "Can not connect to steam servers". So I suppose valve steam server blocked my attacked IPs for some time and then all goes ok. I tried to drop invalid packets with iptables but that did not help :) also I don't know why I have 269xx port open if we use only 27015 so netstat shows me 2 hlds instances, 27015 and 26900, or 27016 and 26901 my servers are up to date tcpdump few lines 17:15:55.604646 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 64) 93.115.83.171.26901 > 146.66.155.8.27020: [bad udp cksum 0xdea6 -> 0xc17c!] UDP, length 36 17:15:55.604658 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 64) 93.115.83.171.26901 > 146.66.156.9.27020: [bad udp cksum 0xdfa7 -> 0xc07b!] UDP, length 36 17:15:55.604668 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 64) 93.115.83.171.26901 > 146.66.156.9.27019: [bad udp cksum 0xdfa7 -> 0xc07c!] UDP, length 36 17:15:55.653930 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 64) 93.115.83.171.26901 > 146.66.156.9.27017: [bad udp cksum 0xdfa7 -> 0xc07e!] UDP, length 36 17:15:55.653945 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 64) 93.115.83.171.26901 > 146.66.156.9.27018: [bad udp cksum 0xdfa7 -> 0xc07d!] UDP, length 36 17:15:55.653957 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 64) 93.115.83.171.26901 > 146.66.156.11.27018: [bad udp cksum 0xdfa9 -> 0xc07b!] UDP, length 36 17:15:55.653968 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 64) 93.115.83.171.26901 > 146.66.156.11.27019: [bad udp cksum 0xdfa9 -> 0xc07a!] UDP, length 36 17:15:55.703284 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 64) MY SERVER IP.26901 > 146.66.156.11.27020: [bad udp cksum 0xdfa9 -> 0xc079!] UDP, length 36 17:15:55.703298 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 64) MY SERVER IP.26901 > 146.66.156.11.27017: [bad udp cksum 0xdfa9 -> 0xc07c!] UDP, length 36 17:15:55.703308 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 64) MY SERVER IP.26901 > 146.66.152.13.27019: [bad udp cksum 0xdbab -> 0xc478!] UDP, length 36 17:15:55.703318 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 64) MY SERVER IP.26901 > 146.66.152.13.27018: [bad udp cksum 0xdbab -> 0xc479!] UDP, length 36 17:15:55.752634 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 64) MY SERVER IP.26901 > 146.66.152.13.27017: [bad udp cksum 0xdbab -> 0xc47a!] UDP, length 36 17:15:55.752655 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 64) MY SERVER IP.26901 > 146.66.152.15.27017: [bad udp cksum 0xdbad -> 0xc478!] UDP, length 36 17:15:55.752665 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 64) MY SERVER IP.26901 > 146.66.152.15.27018: [bad udp cksum 0xdbad -> 0xc477!] UDP, length 36 17:15:55.752676 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 64) MY SERVER IP.26901 > 146.66.152.15.27019: [bad udp cksum 0xdbad -> 0xc476!] UDP, length 36 17:15:55.801849 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 64) MY SERVER IP.26901 > 146.66.152.12.27017: [bad udp cksum 0xdbaa -> 0xc47b!] UDP, length 36 17:15:55.801865 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 64) MY SERVER IP.26901 > 146.66.152.12.27018: [bad udp cksum 0xdbaa -> 0xc47a!] UDP, length 36 17:15:55.801877 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 64) MY SERVER IP.26901 > 146.66.152.12.27019: [bad udp cksum 0xdbaa -> 0xc479!] UDP, length 36 17:15:55.801888 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 64) MY SERVER IP.26901 > 208.64.200.204.27018: [bad udp cksum 0x4a69 -> 0x55bc!] UDP, length 36 17:15:55.851113 IP (tos 0x0, ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto UDP (17), length 64) MY SERVER IP.26901 > 208.64.200.204.27019: [bad udp cksum 0x4a69 -> 0x55bb!] UDP, length 36 ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: https://list.valvesoftware.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux

Re: [hlds_linux] Mandatory TF2 update released
This isn't the Xmas update so perhaps in a few weeks they can make amends by releasing the map anyway? Personally I'd like to see a map that is geared towards 32player counts and faster re-spawn. At this point in the game's history I don't see why not considering the power modern computers/servers have now to run the extra weight. I refuse to play on any server that doesn't have fast re-spawn as I don't wish to waste my small amount of playing time sitting in spawn watching others play while I wait to get back into the action. -Original Message- From: hlds_linux-boun...@list.valvesoftware.com [mailto:hlds_linux-boun...@list.valvesoftware.com] On Behalf Of Paul Sent: Tuesday, December 09, 2014 4:21 AM To: Half-Life dedicated Linux server mailing list Subject: Re: [hlds_linux] Mandatory TF2 update released I too am disappointed with this update, so much that I'll most probably be spending my money on some other games this month. I too am disappointed with this update, so much that I'll most probably be spending my money on some other games this month. I thought there would be more to the winter season/event than just duck collecting and some new items (mostly cosmetics). A map would've certainly been nice. Oh well, people can't expect everything I guess - especially when there are bugs that still haven't been fixed for weeks or months. Re: [hlds_linux] Mandatory TF2 update released
I'd say they are upset because they did not got a new map to play on. Not necessarely for snowplow, though valve saying that the map is too complex for new players was fuel to the flames. However, thats most likely not the only thing valve people said. When i requested feedback from one of my maps, i got a good list and explanation on why it wont be ever be to their standards. There hasnt been any new maps to tf2 from community for a long time and all official ones, asteroid and cactuscanyon have been just to give something to play on, even on unfinished stage, so naturally they burst out the frustration now. -ics - Alkuperäinen viesti - > It was cut relatively last second, seeing for how long EOTL have been in > the works. > > People in the community are unsurprisingly upset about this.
