Re: [hlds_linux] No ContentServers are online
Chris (or anyone else), Do you have the instructions for setting up the Steam.cfg file, or could you direct me to where to find them? Thanks... I'll take a look through the archives. I actually moved to a new directory, re-downloaded the update tool, and then pointed it to the original install directory for my server and it worked! Every time I start the server, steam_appid.txt ends up with the ^@ in it... even if I've edited the file with nano to remove those extra characters. Any ideas as to why that would be happening? Re: [hlds_linux] L4D2 - STEAM validation rejected
Yes, I have tried removing the file completely. Also, after I edit the file to remove the extra characters, if I cat the file, it looks correct. As soon as I run the server and cat the file again, it once again has the ^...@. Seems pretty strange. Shane Arnold wrote: Have you tried removing the file altogether and creating a new one/trying again? What happens if you use another editor? [hlds_linux] L4D - Odd Server Issues
Lately, my server has been doing strange things once in a while. I've only had this happen on No Mercy Versus so far, but that's about all we ever play on my server. Here are some of the things that will happen: -- Tank spawns at the very beginning of No Mercy 1 as soon as Survivors leave the roof. -- Required distance from Survivors for Infected to be able to spawn increases greatly. You have to go several rooms away to be able to spawn. -- Second team does not always get a tank, even though the first team did -- Sometimes a team will get two tanks in the same level -- Most of the time, a witch will spawn instead of tank for the second team My server is a vanilla server. I have run update and -verify_all several times, but the issue continues. If I restart the server, it fixes everything. However, a few days later it seems to happen again.
