Re: [hlds_linux] Server list
Toker, I got the same thing. I had a server with .2 on the end that was so full, I had to get a redirect plugin and fill ANOTHER server. In the last month or so, it's been damn near empty. Anybody have any comments on this? Jason Weisberger http://www.csrev.com Toker wrote: A while back, steam was handing out server based on the last octet of the IP address. This changed. Does anybody know how it is done now? I had a server that had .2 as the last octet and it was full 24/7. No, the servers have been sitting idle 24/7. I know they changed something. I have searched everywhere and can't find a straight answer. Anyway know the quick answer? Re: [hlds_linux] steam://
I'd love to be a tester in this part, as I discontinued use of phpUA because of administering the clients and web portions, plus the need to have a seperate installation per client. It wasn't worth the work for the amount of use it got. If administration capabilities are severely improved in this new version, I'd love to give it another test run. Thanks m0gely for tying to make me look like an asshole without knowing what you're talking about. HL Protocol requires that you also install a client portion for it to work, consiquently, most people do not use HL Protocol. Now that Steam protocol is out and about, I'm sure people will use it more and more. It seems as though only the hardcore CS Sysadmins knew about HL Protocol. Yes, people have wanted this for years in CS, however, as usual with a younger gaming community, people are often too lazy to take initiative. Kevin J.
