It looks like you need to add +ip to your hlds arguments.
Be sure to use the internal IP, not the external IP. I had the same
problem when I set up my first server.

All you really need to forward from the router to your server for your
setup is UDP 27015. I played on your server for a few minutes, so that
appears to be set up ok.

Man, I haven't played that map in a while. Good luck and thanks for
running a mod that most have abandoned!

It won't be an issue. The Trident engine will remain installed, but the web
browser will not. If Steam does require IE itself, then Valve would just
include IE8 with the Steam installation.

I have a request. Most likely a bit radical for your design, but very
much wanted.

The problem is as following. Steam uses IE as engine to display stuff in
the store, the motd etc etc.
As you know, IE is used less and less, and people now a days chose not
to install or update IE at all because their using an alternative
browser. (Our webstats show that IE is by far no longer the most used
browser).

Now to come to our problem, because we don't install or update IE
anymore, we get faced with all sorts of render problems caused by the
old IE engine (IE6). Widespread webmasters are fully dropping IE6
supports because their tired of having to implement countless hacks to
make it browser compatible.

Could steam please consider implementing or supporting alternative
browser engines?

Cheers,

I think that that isn't the norm.

The actual command to be bookmarked should be something more along the lines
of:

mv /home//.steam/ClientRegistry.blob /home//.steam/ClientRegistry.blob.bak

Just because I don't think most people will be running their srcds servers
as root, or be nearly as vigilant as you are. ; )

No offense/insult meant.

Considering it's a box 20 feet from my desk, running just srcds, and nothing
else, If it was a hosted server on a far away server, I wouldn't run it as
root.

But your answer is, yes, my copy of srcds is run under root, as its just 1
box running just srcds, and has no access to any real networks, and I
monitor network usuage daily, along with packet counts.

sv_allow_wait_command 0 will not stop most of them. Lots of people are just
using +left or +forward, which appears to be enough to prevent autokick.

Sometimes it only works on the third or fourth time verifying all. Looks
like it's a problem with the map, not the model, if that helps.

What happens if you delete pl_hoodoo_final.bsp and let it redownload?

Hi there,

I'm having problems with pl_hoodoo_final map. The cart is not moving at all.
Server console shows some errors on map start and on every round start:

ERROR!: Can't create physics object for models/custom/dirty_bomb_cart.mdl

Tried to re-run update with -verify_all but without any luck. This is
happening on clean server without any addons/plugins. Running Slackware
Linux 12.0. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

You can also set sv_cheats to 1, then add bots and set sv_cheats back to 0.
Any connected clients need to reconnect though.

Yes exactly, just some kind of window, so I and/or another can be

BTW anyone noticed the bottle of pee on the spy update page yet? Takes a

I think Matt was looking for a more exact time frame window. As it
stands, it could be anywhere between midnight PST tonight to just before
midnight tomorrow night. That isn't exactly a good window of
preparation for server admins.

Re: [hlds_linux] TF2 Sniper and Durty Spy Update Schedule

2009-05-20 Thread Yaakov Smith
Yeah, but it would appear that they were working on something which couldn't
be released in time for the scout update, hence the last page of the update
simply stating that the update has arrived.

The Scout update came out pretty late, didnt it? Maybe I'm not remembering
correctly

Well it should be released with the 8th and final blog post+details, which
comes out 9-11AM my time, so that would be in 24-26 hours.

I think Matt was looking for a more exact time frame window. As it
stands, it could be anywhere between midnight PST tonight to just before
midnight tomorrow night. That isn't exactly a good window of
preparation for server admins.

Is there an ETA for when this will be released, so I can make sure there is
a administrator around to update the game servers?

Hey all,

I would need someone from Valve to check out this issue with
Orangebox. Here is the problem.
Let's say I have Orangebox Source Engine installed with TF2 and
Ageofchivalry for example

If I run an update with very_all for TF2 I have got this files in
orangebox/bin

If after that I run an update with verify_all for ageofchivalry, I
have got these files:

As you may have notice; some file differs:

tier0_i486.so
vphysics_i486.so
vstdlib_i486.so

The problem is if I run TF2 with the file of the ageofchivalry update,
the server segfault. Indeed, Ageofchivalery run fine and I can connect
on the server.

If I run TF2 with the TF2 update file, everything run fine. If I run
ageofchivalry with those TF2 update files, the server start, looks to
run fine, but impossible to connect to it, I got an error message each
time saying 'Invalid Steam key size'. Running the ageofchivalry steam
update fix the problem but broke TF2, and probably DOD:S (haven't
tested).

Any idea ?

Thanks for your help,

Marc.
