CVAR-X and zBlock are now dead. I really liked CVAR-X's possibility also set
the min and max cl_interp and not just one solid value. Any chance of
introducing this to the engine itself?

Here are the files prior to the changes by update v28.
These are the original v27 files, and work fine (tested it on 2 of our

Don't forget to temporarily remove the auto update parameters before

101? That seems like quite a lot of packets to be sending out per

thought that this wasn't the case but after playing on it, I do notice a

sv_maxupdaterate 101 the best imho.

* 5. When I right click my server in the Steam list and click "View

to worry about? Can I make it 'secure'?

i read this somewhere:

Try experimenting with -tickrate value on the cmd line and watch the

Subject: [hlds_linux] Still problems with low FPS

in july there have been lots of posts concerning the low fps/high cpu
issue. So far I didn't find a solution to the problem:

Regardless if the server is full or empty, I have only around 50 FPS with
these settings:

-tickrate 66 (starting parameter)

server.cfg:
sv_minrate 2500
sv_maxrate 2
sv_maxupdaterate 85
fps_max 600
sv_minupdaterate 10
sv_unlag 1
sv_maxunlag .5

Also, using the default netsettings (by commenting out) wasn't helpful.

I am running the server on a Debian System (2.6xx). AMD 3000XP, 1GB DDR,
100Mbit.

Any help is appreciated.

With kind regards,

maschine

it depends on your kernel frequency, def kernel frequency in 2.6.x is
1000hz but if you set it back to 100hz, the source server run only @ 50fps.

you should look after it, i think

Actually, thanks to the wonders of Steam I have a better way to test
this. If you have a crash on load after this last release then run the
update tool with "-beta linux" on the command line. For example:

./steam -command update -game cstrike -beta linux -dir .

I would appreciate any reports as to whether this does or does not help
the problem.

Guys, which kernel are you using, 2.4.xx? Perhaps the problem is that.
Because i asked a few admin and whoes server was working fine, that was
using 2.6.xx and the two kernel versions are using different "refresh
rate" (or i dunno what...) default: 2.4.xx = 100Hz, 2.6.xx = 1000 Hz(I'm
not sure... :D). But maybe we should search the problem here.

Hi, the same problem here.
I'm running a CS:S warserver (10 players + srctv) with -tickrate 100, net
settings:

sv_lan 0
sv_maxupdaterate 101
sv_minupdaterate 80
sv_unlag 1
sv_maxunlag .5
host_framerate 0
sv_maxrate 25000

So, like CAL config.

3GHZ P4, 2x512 DDR, Debian, 100Mbit connection.
But if the server is full, the server fps fall back on the round starts
and starts to lagging.
I already tried to disable vac2 but it didn't helped.

What should i do? ^^
