I've been following the GameSpy stats as well. From what I can tell, there is definately an over-saturation of servers per player. I mean, HL at best has like an overall 3.5 players per server. UT, Q3, UT2K, Wolfenstein... they all still manage a 1-2 players per server. So, I doubt the players are headed there. Now, the only one doing better at the Player:Server ratio is America's Army. They typically always hold a 4-6 players per server ratio. I've even seen it go to 7-9. Needless to say, there are still too many servers for the amount of players. Anyway, those are the stats I've been watching. Especially, when I'm approached by others that are thinking about renting servers out. IMO, they'd be better off making money with those servers by hosting something other than a game server.
