Re: [Hornlist] Speaking of Welsh horn treasure....
So I'm looking for anything Welsh for horn: hymn/or folk s= ong arrangements, original horn stuff by Welsh composers, etc. Anyone ha= ve any suggestions? = My onetime teacher, Anthony (Tony) Randall, (not the actor) is Welsh and has written a number of horn pieces, some of which are set pieces for the Associated Boards exams. Nothing particularly "Welsh" about them as far as I know, though. e.g. http://www.musicroom.com/search.aspx?contribid=39857&searchtype=artist Anthony Randall: Scherzo Anthony Randall: Nocturne (Horn And Piano) Anthony Randall: Serenade For French Horn Anthony Randall: Swings And Roundabouts etc. Simon ___ post: horn@music.memphis.edu unsubscribe or set options at http://music2.memphis.edu/mailman/options/horn/archive%40jab.org

Mathias horn concerto arr. for piano by Geraint Lewis, (also known as Tniareg Siwel). Out of print but I have a copy. Hymns by Joseph Parry "Mae Hen Wlad fy Nhadau" (national anthem) Sospan Fach... All stuff that would probably be quite easy to arrange. The hollywood composer Mike Lewis is Welsh. I have played some of his pieces for small groups - 3/4 horns, a harp (Katrin Finch) and as I recall some woodwind. Not a terribly Welsh instrument though, y Cor Ffrengig.
