PSP Bucket for 2107DEVICE (DS8300)

2012-05-21 Thread Moussadak Mostafa
hello to all,

We plan to migrate from ESS800 disk-bay to a new DS8300. we are currently in a
zOS1.7 on z10BC.

I took a test in HCD, the Device Type 2107 is here !

Are we obliged to apply the PSP Bucket to have support of the DEVICE 2107
(DS8300) or is it already included under zOS?

Thank you very much for your answers.

Regards/Cordialement.

What are the requisites and measures to take before this type of migration ?
Thanks very much.

Re: How to Open a TN3270 session at HMC Stattion ...

2007-11-09 Thread Moussadak Mostafa
Yes,

I put the ip address for one LPAR. For Port Number, I put the default (23) :
hasn't work!

My quest. Is there a specific Port for theses connections?

Thanks.

Cordialement.

Did you try using the Configure 3270 Sessions task on the HMC? This task
lets you configure 3270 sessions that will get started whenever the HMC starts.
The task lets you specify the IP address etc. for the target host.

 Hi all,

I just discover that there a possibility to open a TN3270 session via
PCOM to a Mainframe at HMC Station.

did any one knew a parameters to put for such session (port, ip adr,
 ...) ?

 Many thanks / Cordialement.

Wouldn't it be the same as any other TN3270 session on your LAN? Just guessing.

ESS Storage Upgrade ...

2007-06-07 Thread Moussadak Mostafa
Hi folks,

We have a 2105 ESS 800 configured with 8 LSS (00 to 07) with 128 devices
each.
The physical devices, 12 Eightpacks of 18.2Go disques, are assigned this
way :
 LSS (00 to 03) with 72 volumes emulated 3390-3
 LSS (04 to 07) with 36 volumes emulated 3390-3

At this time, we want to upgrade our Storage, With 2 Eightpacks of
145.6Go disques.

The Hardware-Inspector told me that the only way to do that is to create
2 new LSS (0E OF) with 256 devices each, to deliver 512 Volumes 3390-3
(so we lost ~100 volumes).

My question :
Is there a way to have more volumes ?
How good would the final config (8 LSS with 128 dev 2 LSS with 256
dev) ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks very much.
