Retirement
To All on this Listserv, I will be retiring in short order. I wanted to extend my appreciation to current and past members of this list for all the help provided over the years. The resources available on this list are absolutely incredible. As I go through my email folders preparing my PC for archival (.or whatever mgmt has in mind for it), I begin to realize how much I depended on you people. Yes, IBMLINK is available, but I always tend to look to this list for real life experiences, usually providing short-cuts to resolve a given problem. ..so Best Wishes to all, and good luck. Re: Retirement
Would love to find part-time work, but there are only 3 mainframes within 150 miles. Not much here in Nevada. I plan on getting my sailboat into the water this summer, and spending more time with the grandkids, take some classes,... Most of my Sysprog Friends whom I worked with over the last 30 years have already retired. It was difficult to find time with them because they are on a different schedule. I Plan on hooking up with them and do the camping, fishing..etc. gabe - Edward E Jaffe: Congratulations! What will you be doing in your second career? ADMINISTRIVIA: Clarification on retirement
Guys (and Gals), Yes, I am retiring...Friday Nov 30th technically being my last day as a full-time sysadmin for UA. But, I'm not going anywhere! I'll be temporary part-time faculty due to my continued teaching of the Computer-Based Honors Program. I'm across the street from where I was before 8-5 everyday. Same email address. I'll still be monitoring the list as before. I just wont have listserv admin priviledges anymore, such as looking in the logs to see why something happened to your posting or whatever. So don't write me off yet!
