Issue with z/OS 1.13 installation with mod 3 volume

2015-02-18 Thread Subscribe (IBM-MAIN) Nallasivam.V
I'm doing the z/OS 1.13 installation with Z9BC and DS6800(3390 mod3)
I have revd and installing it. I'm in MODIFY SYSTEM LAYOUT section.

Even we have 10 volumes in the LPAR, It just displays only 3 volumes in
“Physical volume summary” option of MODIFY SYSTEM LAYOUT.
So that when i proceed with Automatic system layout option, its not able to
allocate all the datasets. Getting space issue.

I'm not sure why its taking 3 volumes only. Please help on this.
I'm not able to post screenshot here. please mail me if you need screenshots.

Re: Struckup with installation variables section while installing z/OS 1.13 by serverpac

Hi,

Thanks for the reply..
sorry...I'm not sure about the previous installation..I could not able to find
any datasets related to previous installation.
MQ is named as CSQ1.. So should i specify CSQ1 as a value for HOSTNAME variable?

Can i leave it as empty field for daemon IP variable? Will it affect the
further installation?

Struckup with installation variables serction while installing z/OS 1.13 by serverpac

2014-10-26 Thread Subscribe (IBM-MAIN) Nallasivam.V
HI All,

Hope everyone is good..

I'm in the process of installing z/OS 1.13 Serverpac. I have completed the
receive an order part and working with Install an order section thru
Custompac panel. We have Variables part under installing order section. Here
I am struckup with some variables.
Here IBM WAS OEM is one part. Under this, following variables are given.
Definitions also given for those variables. But i'm not sure about network name
and daemon IP.

1.Hostname - Specify the Network name of the physical system on
which WAS OEM needs to be installed .
2.Daemon IP name - Specify the fully qualified IP name that is registered with
DNS that the location service daemon uses.

Pls assist me on how to assign values for these variables. Pls let me know if
you need any details.

Re: Issues while trying to install COD

HI,

The COD tape issue finally resolved. IBM suggested us to perform the 2nd IPL
with load type as CLEAR. We tried it and we installed the COD successfully.
Thanks a lot JOHN EELLS for suggestions and help.

Hi,

I have tried initiating IPL step 3 times. But in each time, the Operating
systems messages panel shows the message interface unavailable message only.
No other messages displaying in the screen.

In the Guide,
Under Restore topic, the below line is mentioned as a note.

Depending on the version of ICKDSF you used, you may need to IPL the
tape drive to get to the
correct location of the DFDSS program

They just mentioned the ICKDSF version in the highlighted manner. But they
didnt specify the link between the Version and IPL process particularly. I mean
whether its related to count(no of ipl) or something else(thru some command etc)

Issues while trying to install COD

2014-05-14 Thread Subscribe (IBM-MAIN) Nallasivam.V
Hi All,

I'm trying to install COD in our machine. As per the COD installation guide, I
have mounted the stand-alone tape in the tape drive and performed the LOAD
process. Also i'm able to perform the initial steps (ie) using ICKDSF program
to perform the initialization of volumes.
The next stop is to restore the COD tape contents into the dasd volumes
initialized. As per the guide, it should invoke the DFSMSdss program which is
located as 3rd file in the tape. So i tried the LOAD process once again to
invoke the DFSMSdss program. But it is again showing me the ICKDSF step only.
So please suggest me how do i read the DFSMSdss program to restore COD tape
contents. Please let me know if you need any other details.

I'm using HMC, Operating system messages panel to perform these steps.
